I did participate in the ice bucket challenge. and its worth it. Its to raise awareness to ALS also called Lou Gehrig's disease. But some people are over doing it and getting hurt. Its to raise awareness to a good cause and have some fun with it. There's people dumping water off a roof onto others. There's clips of people falling because they couldn't manage their footing wit a heavy water bucket, dropping the pucket on the person because they couldn't hold it or other things going wrong. It doesn't need to be heroic.
I used a 5 gallon bucket . If it was full that's dangling 45 pounds of water over your head mine was probably more like 35 pounds it wasn't totally full. That's even a lot. Some people are using garbage cans and 15 gallon coolers. That's hard to lift with dexterity to complete the objective, and very hard to balance on a porch roof with. This is supposed to be a good cause nobody needs to get hurt.
I told Eric since he is only 11 of he is tagged he can do it but a mixing bowl and a few ice cubes is enough for this. Leave the theatrical skits up to the professional entertainers.

Some of the theatrics are being done to make a showing or at least try to do something nobody else has. One of my former teammates ran bases and got hit with a larger bucket as he crossed each base when he got to home plate it was a fullsized Gatorade cooler. But I get wheat you're saying the people who splashed him could handle the size of their water buckets.

Exactly they're pro athletes they can life a trashcan full of icewater they're not young kids trying to 1 up the pack. A display the way they would do it would be awesome.

Obviously we know that President Obama refused the Ice Bucket Challenge but George W Bush took it. But there's not question which one has more guts. Obviously Obama isn't much good for anything he never tells the truth and he refuses a dare.
Well Lou Gehrig played my sport so I have a bias here.

tee hee Classic got nailed by Carlos. It was a huge bucket of ice water.
Youre right though all my students are doing it and sometimes theyre over doing it with theatrics and someone can get hurt. One kid stood on a sidewalk and his friends drove by in a truck and two guys threw ice water at him standing in the back of a truck moving at about 30 miles an hour and they could fall or they could lose control of the bucket and end up having it hit the guy on the sidewalk. They were all about it at school yesterday.

i agree people are doing videos risking hurting themselves to put attention on themselves instead of donating. I am glad these videos got out to raise awareness to other people who didn't know about this and it's great it has reached a lot of money in donations.

You're absolutely right and when they over do it and get hurt they've damaged the good in the cause.

I also took the ice bucket challenge, since it was for a good cause.
