a couple of my friends found a dog in some trees on there way to the town skatepark, it looked dead at first but then it looked at them so they kinda bugged out and carried it down to the skatepark, with intentions of carrying the dog to the vets... Luckly, me and my friend pulled up just when they arrived, so we drove down to the vets office and turned him in... They said hes lucky we did because he was really dehydrated and had a sore foot from the looks of it (it was about 80 all day and very sunny) When we turned her in, the vet said someone reported a dog missing in the early morning under the description that followed the dog, so they got lucky they got there dog back! I did my good deed for the day year

Well its been a couple weeks now and he's doing ok. I found a picture my brother posted somewhere of what Chance looked like when he was just a puppy. Here's what he looked like (hard to believe this was more than 13 years ago.) Haha, he hadn't grown into those pointy ears yet. How cool. A puppy pic of your dog, chance.

I too am glad that Chance is feeling better. He seems quite friendly from those pictures.
I also have a dog---an extremely cute 4-year-old German Shepherd. She enjoys running around like a fool for no apparent reason. =D

A dog can become a regular Member of the Family. Our little Beagle has.

Hey everybody. I haven't been posting recently because I've been wrapping up a very busy semester at school. I'll be posting a topic about that in a few minutes.
As far as Chance and the other dogs, everybody is doing fine. Chance is still showing age (he IS about 14 anyway). He's a bit clumsy and he's lost the majority of his hearing, but he's still lively and does his twirl-arounds when he's excited or hungry. Brittany is still Brittany...for a dog her age its hard to believe she still chews stuff up. Jimmy is still being himself; the devil incarnate. So as far as the dogs, everybody is good.

That's great news that about 8 months from when this started you still have Chance and granted he has aged he is mostly doing well. Your other dogs too. But I realize they're considerably younger than Chance.

Hi Jersey Life. It's nice to know your whole family is doing well. I know all about long term dogs. So I thought of Chance the other day and decided to bump this topic.

Hey guys. I thought I would bump this topic and let everyone know that Chance was humanely euthanized at 12:15 this afternoon. It is only right to let everyone know, since there was such an outpouring of support when I first posted this topic a couple years back.
Chance had done ok up until two days ago. Prior to that the most he needed was help getting up and cleaning up an occasional accident. But on Tuesday he took a sharp turn for the worse, where he couldn't stand up on his own, was clearly in pain, and was whining all day and night wherever he was laying. This was not the sound of an animal that wasn't suffering, so we decided that the best thing for him at this point was to ease his pain and let him pass on.
Thanks for all your support when I first posted this. Its hard to believe that he managed to live to 17.

i loved your puppy picture of chance. he has lived 17 happy years and he is not in pain anymore. the angels are with him and he will never forget you. dog's are very smart and they love the people that are good to them. I don't know if this will help but maybe you can take your pictures put them in a video with a song and dedicate it to chance.

This is a sad moment, obviously. Chance lived a long time though. That amount of time the dog is more than just a pet but part of the family. I have Ranger, my beagle for 13 years.
I know how it feels.

Aww. Im sorry Jersey. We all came to love Chance. He lived about three more years after this post started though and he was already old so he did very well.

I read about Chance on facebook. I am very sorry. But like Kim said he did live an additional 3 years after you were concerned that he was likely dying. That's not to say he wasn't ill and that the vet prescribed medicine wasn't a must. But between the medication and the added care he lived 3 extra years was featured in a couple of your YouTube blogs and the lewasite community all became interested in Chance. This is a great story.
Not that his life came to an end but how much interest he received from your introduction.
