Well they apparently changed the YouTube uploader to something retarded so I'm having a lot of trouble uploading videos right now. I took two videos, one of me playing with the dogs and one of two of them having a tug of war. I'm home now and Chance is much, much better. He's eating and moving around well, even getting up and around pretty good on his own. Just more tired and slow than he usually is. But now he's nothing like what he was on Sunday. Thanks guys for keeping him in your thoughts, I have a feeling it helped. Thanks a lot guys, and once I figure it out I'll post those videos. Edit: I fixed my uploads. Here are the dogs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSTExAFbbEoAnd here's tug of war. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZHtI-r17RU

All your dogs are pretty Jersey Life. Perhaps I got partial to Chance because of this post, but I think he is the prettiest of your 3 dogs.
Im glad you had such good news for us.

Hey, the news is good.
This post reminded me of how hard it was to have my ferret, Jackie, put down in '03.
I gave her free roam of the house and she'd come up to me while I was on the computer and I'd pick her up and put her in my lap where she'd take a long nap (usually after trying to climb into my shirt [which, she sometimes did get into]).
Then, I noticed that after two days she hadn't come to see me and I went looking, thinking maybe she got trapped somewhere (though, the house was 'ferret-proofed') or by-chance she'd gotten out.
I found her laying in my guest room closet, wheezing heavily and acting like a zombie. I picked her up and right away noticed a huge lump on her side, under the rib cage.
I took her to the vet the next morning and found out that she'd had cancer/tumor (possibly for months) and the lump was the result of some sack exploding. Apparently, she got a very common ferret decease (I don't remember the name of it, anymore).and I was forced to decide her fate right there.
I gave her one last licorice rope and said my goodbye. She was my little girl for 12 years.

Now, to clear up my sniffling:
I don't see a heart in his fur but, in the first pic of him lying down, I see a white silhoutte of a cat, right near his rump area.
It's kinda sitting up and batting at something - and the way he's laying down, the cat is right side up.
Irony, a cat 'tatoo' on a dog.
[Ninja edit: I just noticed the heart. It's in #2 pic.]

That's wonderful news about Chance.
It looks like he is kind of the elder wisdom of the bunch.
The young dogs are doing tug of war and biting Jersey's cuff. Chance comes out looks around and sees that everything is all right and goes about his business.
He is beautifully colored. His head and face are pure white and his back is patched in brown. You might have already told us but what kind of Dog is Chance? You told us the other two are Retrievers.
Well I'm so happy that he is responding well to the new diet. Perhaps he will recover completely and stay with you for a while longer.

Well as far as his breed goes we simply have no idea. He could be part Alaskan Malamute, part Husky, part Akita...it's hard to tell. The other two are definitely lab and pitt mixes. Chance could be any one of these breeds.

He is a cool dog. I'm so happy for you that he is doing better. I was in exactly the same time in life. When I was about 20 and Ranger was 13 that's when he died. I was not able to be home as much because I was trying out for teams, as you are in school and can get home a little but not everyday. Same thing just about.
And when you get a puppy when you're a kid and you grow with him it's a bond like nothing else.

Jersey, I liked your blogs on the dogs.
It looks like Chance has the same deal with the video as he does with the photographs. You get 1 picture and that's it.
He came out to see what was up, once he realized what was going on he went on his merry way.

Its nice to know your dog is doing better.
I know a lot of animals can make nice pets but I've always been a dog person.

Aww. That's good news he is doing better. Its sad when pets start to turn downward. I've had pets all my life and its sad when they get ill or pass away.
So anything you can do to prolong keeping him is good. You have cool dogs.

Here he is lying down. And here he is standing up. His ears usually stick up, but in these pictures they're lying down flat. Anyone notice the heart shape in his back fur? My sister noticed that one day when he was still a puppy. He's had it ever since. He's been with us for so long I really can't imagine life at home without him. This is going to be tough... I

Yar, matey, Jason.
I like your first response:
"I"...
as in: "Aye"
It says everything in one word.

Well its been a couple weeks now and he's doing ok. I found a picture my brother posted somewhere of what Chance looked like when he was just a puppy. Here's what he looked like (hard to believe this was more than 13 years ago.) Haha, he hadn't grown into those pointy ears yet.

How cute. I can see his striped pattern as the same though. Sometimes that changes a little bit. But other than being smaller, I'd say Chance looks just like he did as a Puppy.
I am very happy that he is doing so much better now.

Jason will be home in a few minutes and believe me he will be happy to know Chance is doing better. He likes animals and when he comes onto Lewasite this is 1 of the 1st threads he checks.
He'll be delighted to see Chance's pup picture.

Especially having seen the pics of him as a full grown dog and the videos Jersey posted.
