I don't mind the idea of advertising for more members. But change around is part of every forum. That's nothing new about a dozen core people stay and others come and go that's how it always is.
I agree we need some more members. But in the mean time you don't want a flood of people who are only going to cause problems.
But what's your idea for advertising?

I don't really agree. There's pretty good membership. The most members were before the site's crash/ hacking.
But there's about 20 active members and a good 10 partially active.
There's always been guys like Thunderbird, Hatson, Pumpkin who post occasionally but not everyday. Yet they're here they haven't left they make that clear when they are on that they just can't post everyday.
But again I wouldn't mind seeing this forum advertised for more members and reaching out is a good idea.

I think seeking more Members is a good idea.
What do you suggest as a good way to find Members.
Lewa was known through farts.com and Sodarace.net. Those have always been the main two sources for Lewasite Members.
Classic and Lewa encouraged Members from other sites that they had membership. Nearly all of the Members who have ever been part of Lewasite had been from one of those two sites.
I don't disagree that more Membership needs to be encouraged but I don't quite know how to go about this.
All suggestions could be posted in this topic to be discussed though.

Hmm, I would put out an advert on SA but, you guys really don't want this place flooded with my fellow goons (I don't think they'll stay, anyway - not enough forum choices). Adding more thread choices like: You may not be able to see these links because you have to be a member to see some of them - sometimes (it depends on your chance).Photoshop Phriday (a weekly contest where someone posts a photo and everyone photoshops it, or a variant). Ask/Tell (A special section where you can ask/tell anything you're familiar with/want to know about - e.i. "Ask me about truck driving") Adding a few extra subsections may draw more people in.

well there are loads of sub sections without any activity atm. if we had competitions or group projects it would draw me in more! get members being productive. I know people here come from different areas, and it would be tough to find a specialised section where everyone would fit in, but it's worth a try. something like a group game (gm7?) project or story (maybe something like a roleplay that we could try and publish?)
anyway, productivity keeps members. let them join up to something and have to comeback to finish it.
advertisement is tough. especially when everyone out there wants members for themselves and rarely advertise other forums. we could pay for something maybe but we aren;t getting any profit from this site so it's counter productive.
does anyone have any connections in bigger sites that maight be able to pull us some banner space? i'll put lewasite on my brothers forums header as an advertisement, but tbh, im kind of hoping people will come the other way.

Most proboards sites dont have 237 registered members. A number of accounts were wiped out during the events of a year and a half ago too.
Out of the 237 members theres at least 40 that are active at least occasionally. Every site has numerous members who register, post once or twice to introduce themselves and never show up again.
Thats not just a thing with lewastie, thats every forum Ive ever been part of.
I like this forum because green is my favorite color and the people are nice. Sure theres always been an occasional not so nice person but the friendliness here is better than most.

The friendliness of this site is unheard of on most of the internet. I agree. Because even if people disagree they usually keep it respectable here. Lots of times you post something and someone tells you that its off topic, and if you post a new thread you get told there's already a topic like that and if you post in that topic you're likely to be told that this topic hasn't been discussed in however long and you're not suppose to bump it after that amount of time. So we try to give people a chance around here.
