My kids like the song Royals that is all over the charts these days. My 6 year old daughter sings that line a lot and the boys like the song too.
Royals is sung by a girl known professionally as Lorde, she is from Australia. She got early attention a few months ago by having said some things about Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. Recently she made a comment about former Disney kid stars not specifying but probably referring to Miley Cyrus and or Brittney Spears.
Freedom of speech? Ok, but that works both ways. So be ready.
Pop Trigger made this video
Pop Trigger tells the story but they only analyze it for a few minutes.
To me, its 1 of those things too, Lorde is only 17 she's a kid herself. Society expects 'child' celebrities to be more grown up than others their age. They are more worldly but at the end of the day physically, and emotionally they are still 17 years old basically the age of a junior in high school. With all that said, if you aggressively criticize others, you better have thick skin and your shields up because it's coming right back at you.

i don't know who she is really because I have not heard of her music but I do agree she is right saying these young girl singers are growing up to fast. their trying to show off their bodies and outdo each other. you should showcase your voice not your body. I love selena I think she is a great singer but movies not so much. I saw spring breakers and I really did not know why that movie was ever made. girls in bikinis in court and jail it's like that's all they had to wear. acting was horrible. but miley you could not pay me to see her in concert. she slammed amanda bynes on her mental illness.

I think these young stars are pushed too hard at too young of an age.

Phil makes a good point once you take a stand on others publicly that proverbial cork is out of the bottle and it's game on. You become fair game to anybody who wishes to criticize anything that they may want to point out about you and they can use the defense that you started it. And you did.
Similar things are what I've seen with baseball players in the minor league level so many of my minor league teammates came from poverty in the Dominican Republics, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South America or even right here in this country their family's future hopes depend on that kid reaching the majors and saving their financial woes. Out of the hundreds of thousands of minor league players that are on teams and leagues throughout the continent, the major leagues only have room for 750 players and it has very few doors that are opened for just moments.
I tend to think similar pressure is on entertainers as is on athletes the family really leans on that individual to be their future and ultimately support them.

Classic, were you pressured at all or agents or coaches hard on you to push through baseball?

Classic, were you pressured at all or agents or coaches hard on you to push through baseball? No, but I wasn't put under any undue pressure but my family wasn't desperate for me to succeed to save their future like so many of these kids that come from poverty and through sports or entertainment is their only chance. For what I made financially as a ball player I could have made if I had stayed at the family business. I have a few managers who saw potential in me to go higher but I also had some that thought I was a two bit bum who was lucky to be facing Double A pitching.
