Sterilized over 150 female inmates in prison.
I am shocked. I suppose they dont want to risk reproduction in prison in the belief that its disruptive to a prison sentence to have a pregnancy occur. Others may feel these women are insane or bad in a way or another thinking that preventing their reproduction would limit another generation of the same kind of person being born but again who had the right to make that decision?
I suppose they guessed on who was likely to return to prison and they were saying they didnt want to subject kids to the life that would have problems such as this but this is going way overboard.

That is just far too over the top. There is no right to do this. That opens the door to giving vasectomy to men in an insane ward. At what point have we gone too far?

I heard about this too. And I often say facetiously that some people shouldn't reproduce. I never mean it in that exact context though. This is almost like a Hitler genocidal move.
Something that should not happen in 21st century democracy.

This is an outrage because they don't even force you to have operations that could save your life if you don't want to.
I mean even if you're terminal you have the right to die at the natural pace even if a surgical procedure would save you. If you don't want it you're not under any obligation to have it. So this is just like a type of sterilization.
