I've never heard of him, but the article says he shot someone else too. I don't know what the deal was with these guys, but I think anger management and counseling would go a long way before something like this happens. Now he can throw it all away because he'd rather deal with his problems by shooting people.

That was my reaction too. I just don't understand some people.
Since Dragonlady is not a football fan I will explain something that wouldn't be known unless you are. Hernandez plays Tight End. His job is to catch a football passed fairly short yardage but under heavy coverage and be able to not only catch the ball but muscle his way through coverage for position, unlike a wide receiver who would receive a pass from longer distance and attempt to run fast and far.
Hernandez plays for the New England Patriots. Their quarterback is Tom Brady who is among the best of the current and possibly among the best of all time to play that position. The tight ends are only successful if they have a good quarterback and Hernandez has the fortune of working with a top drawer QB.
My point is that over 12 million a year wouldn't be possible if he didn't have good statistics that are in part if not in most made possible by a good quarterback in his case Tom Brady. If he played for a less talented quarterback he might make some plays but not what would land him that kind of money.
But what reason do you have to kill? Self defense? You could report it if it was... Then vengeance... then this person or persons crossed him. Is it organized crime? Blackmail? If blackmail then what was he in that these other people knew about? The questions keep flowing there.
But what could he be involved in that made putting a career that was taking off in jeopardy?
I doubt that he had more to gain in the underworld than his job.

It was in the paper last night and said the guy he killed was a friend who was talking to people he didn't like. That makes alot of sense! WTF.

Thats even worse, who is he to tell people who they can talk to?
Thats like a possessive boyfriend almost. Only he wanted to be in control of his friends who they can and cant be friends with.
He just threw his life away though so theres justice. He killed one person and his life is just going to be ruined but he will have to live it out.
If eh was arrogant enough to think he could stop people from being friends he was arrogant enough to think hed never get caught.

i read the story so this took place after they had a fight a few days later. I can't believe anyone would shoot their friend like that over a arguement. in his contract he was set with a lot of money so it seemed like he had a lot going for him with his career and he had to end it this way. killing solves nothing. I feel sorry for the family and friends of the victim that are left to pick up the pieces. the guy ruined his life and I hope he gets life in prison.

There's something to it that will unfold as time goes by. There's going to be more to it. It's not going to be something as simple as this guy didn't listen to him.
I am sure there's an organized crime ring they were involved with and there was a blackmail attempt, a guy was about to tell authorities of his involvement or something along those lines. He had to have had something to lose by not killing this guy. Especially as carelessly as he covered his tracks.

Classic, you're probably right. There's got to be something he didn't want to get out.

Classic, you're probably right. There's got to be something he didn't want to get out. It had to be something pretty big if he would kill a guy so he couldn't talk or cause Hernandez harm.
