IT keeps getting more out of control.
A nine year old girl is stabbed fatally in a rural part of California. Her twelve year old brother found her stabbed and an intruder. The intruder was at large last known and the girl died a few hours later in the hospital.
How can this happen?

There's no report of finding this guy so far. How they haven't found this guy yet surprises me though.

I have not heard anything new. This is a small town in northern California and everyone is terrified. Very sad update on the little girl's killer. Her 14 year old brother killed her and made up the story of an intruder. He has been arrested and charged with murder.

I was afraid that was going to play out this way. When they didn't find him or any sign of the "intruder" for several days I was concerned that the brother may have been the killer.
I now feel that the parents are going to be a wreck about this. I would be. One child dead and the other a murderer
How does a boy get so mad at a nine year old sister that he'd kill her? Or was he doing something she knew about and was afraid she'd talk and that was the only way he thought he could keep her quiet? Like drugs or something along those lines. I can't see what a nine year old girl would do that would make him want to kill her or believe that he had to.

I can't imagine that either. It does seem that if a suspect is not found or at least identified, even if not found, that it ends up being an inside job. That's more often husbands and wives than kids killing their sister or brother but that's quite a terrible ending. I am sure those people felt living in a rural area a chance of an intruder was remote. I live a few miles out of town I'm not in Bradford Proper and I doubt there's going to be a robbery but there can be of course anywhere. I will sometimes leave Jason with the younger children feeling that there is not going to be an issue.
I am sure those parents had the same confidence in their kids. And then this happens. Hard to fathom. They're going to spend the rest of their lives believing that had they not left the kids home alone that wouldn't have happened.
