Well it has happened again. A cowardly attack on the innocents. Goes to show you don't need guns to destroy life. All you need is a pressure cooker, explosives and a trash can . Oh, and a A@@ Hole.

That's for sure. Something I have said before is that a bomb can be made with some gasoline, wires and a battery. I have enough items in my garage and I think most people do, that can make a bomb if someone so wanted to. Its getting so we can't go about our business without fear of terror.

There are websites that teach you how, and it's a wonder those are legal. It shouldn't be encouraged.

It shouldn't be encouraged. I don't know how this is going to sound, but I am very capable of use of explosives. They are used on my job and I am familiar with wires and batteries I would be able to make a pipe bomb if I wanted to. The point being that that knowledge is wide spread enough that it doesn't need to be promoted on Youtube to impressionable kids. That 1 day they get mad at someone at school and think they'll pipe bomb their locker only they don't really know what they're doing and they blow themselves up over anger that some other kid ended up going out with the girl they wanted. No need to promote destruction there's enough of it already.

Even fireworks can cause real damage if not handled properly. We need to teach our children about all things dangerous.

That's a good point. A friend of my father's had 2 fingers blown off by fireworks when he was a little kid. Once in a while he would discuss that.

It was not terrorists. It was a fire in a fertilizer factory. The ammonium nitrate that is in fertilizer exploded. It is similar to the Texas City, Texas explosion in 1947. A freighter carrying fertilizer caught fire and exploded into a Monsanto chemical plant. 500 people were killed and it took two days for the fire to be put out.

Fertilizer is not just manure there's a lot of chemicals involved and once a fire starts it can be a major project to put it out. Its felt right now that the problem in Texas was not an act of terror but a terrible accident.
Combustibles are a highly difficult thing to contain.
About 6 years ago I was sent to Kentucky to work on a situation where a train derailed and there was a major fire. Area homes were evacuated and the degree of charred ground and landscape was amazing even for a source being a few railcars. A factory the size of the 1 on fire now would be much more difficult.

I think they should beat the surviving guy within inches of his life or put him in a celll with vicious criminals who would just beat him up til he dies. Or put him in a cage with hostile animals who will stomp him and then tear his flesh limb to limb. And if there's a third person involved I woudlnt be as nice to him.

You did a video once where you made a remote switch or something like that.

I can make a "bomb" using nothing but a butane lighter, a stryofoam cup and a hand grenade...
OH, the hand grenade is the... ahem... blow-upper...
Anyway, I'll have to make a video using the lighter and cup. It's pretty awesome! [and safe].

It wasn't a remote switch Kim, it was a reply to someone who tried to tape a wire together I displayed a shrinktube connector method. That's all it was.

I'm glad the bombers weren't at large very long. I'm disappointed that 1 is here to stand trial. But then again they might get some answers out of him so maybe its ok in the long run.

We had a bombthreat here late last night or early this morning I discussed it in General chat thread. Its probably a bandwagon hoax but they're not taking any chances.

We had a trash bag in Wal Mart's parking lot that looked suspicious. It was just garbage but the police were called anyway. I think there's going to be a lot of that. Nobody wants to take chances and I am not saying they should. That's another way the terrorists put fear in the rest of us. Once this happens we're almost too nervous to touch anything. Not my department specifically but the railroad companies all over are flooded with calls of a box near the tracks, something must have been tossed from a train, and other things like that. They end up being an old tire on the ground near tracks but again we're never too sure and its because of those guys. That's the aftermath of their actions. Then the mother of the 2 brothers says that her boys came to America for the land of opportunity and got killed here! Is that lady for real?
