hopefully the link to the video works. from what I read in the description the person was on the cell phone while driving and lost control of their car. it went onto oncoming traffic and crashed into a truck. I hate to say it but it looks like the people who caused the crash did not survive. I thought it was really erie after the accident and the silence after the crash. I thought the video was pretty powerful and hopefully whoever put it out there stopped others from texting or being on their phones while driving.

It happens all the time, and its getting worse with smart phones because texting and networking is getting easier. And people think they can do both. I have no problem with talking and driving because you can still watch the road and traffic. I do it all the time. But never do I text and drive.

Texting and driving is illegal in Ohio now, and I hope they make it illegal in every state and country. While I never text and drive, once in a while I'll talk on the phone and drive. A friend of mine used to text and drive, but when she was almost in an accident, she stopped doing it.

Its a good thing she got the message that this was a bad idea without actually getting in an accident.

I admit I do talk on my phone while I'm driving to me that's no different from listening to the radio but never text. That involves taking your eyes off the road.

it's really dangerous texting while driving. I hear so many horror stories about it. I didn't know it's illegal in Ohio but glad they did that.

I do hold up my video camera to you tube while driving. Sometimes I latch it to the dashboard and just turn the camera as needed during the blogs.

people can't text while walking let alone driving. Stupid people walk into walls or eachother because they get a text message that can't wait. How stupid.

Thankfully illegal in the UK. Use of any handheld electronic device is illegal while driving. Doesn't stop people from doing it though. Hands free phonecalls are legal though.

Its illegal in the United States too but that's the point, people do it anyway. That's real bad too. Not that other things are good but texting is more of a distraction than most other things. Obviously now there's phone access to internet and therefore making it even more distracting. Its not legal to talk and drive but I don't think that really causes a lot of problems that I have seen. But texts while driving are a big problem.

Texting and facebook seem to be distractions to everything especially driving.

i read a story people had problems in jersey with texting while crossing the street. many people got hit by cars. is your phone that important you can't breathe without it? I have had problems walking around people at tha mall because they were all texting while walking. it gets annoying. texting and driving is really dangerous. your putting people's lives at risk over texts and facebooking. when I am out I usually don't text and facebook. I wait till I am at least sitting down.

I don't think most people realize how distracted they are when they're texting. I would bet they believe they're still clearly aware of what is happening around them. I think if they were filmed and shown how detached from their surroundings they are they'd be surprised. In a way its not too different from some drunk drivers. What I mean is that a lot of times a person is drinking and is not aware how out of it they are and will argue with you if you suggest that.
The same with texting the person is sure its not distracting them from driving or crossing the street or which ever.
