Donna Summer died. I know she like many performers went through some stages of drug abuse but I also remember that she came out of it and continued to perform.
I understand she has battled with cancer for a coupe years and has managed to keep it somewhat under wraps.
But she died this morning in her Key West, Florida home.
This is a shame. Donna worked hard for her money.

This is a bizarre irony. This morning I went through my workout and played "Hot Stuff," I have a version that plays that song four straight times because its a good motivational tune for rather boring but healthy exercises. Then a few minutes later I heard that news. Obviously I tend not to believe in irony being that I had already programed that song and use it on a regular basis but I picked it today for some reason.

This has been a rough year for musicians. Maybe its not more than usual but off the top of my head we had Donna Summers, Whitney Houston, Dick Clark and thats just a moments thought and we arent even half way through the year.

I saw Donna Summer in Las Vegas when I was 21. She was marvelous. I will miss her .
