Gary Carter died at the age of 57 of brain cancer. He played about 20 years of baseball for the Expos, Mets, Giants and Dodgers.
I was asked to make 3 of my favorite lineups and Carter was my top catcher. I am sad to hear of his death.

That's too bad. I remember he was instrumental in the Mets 1986 World Series win. Well, Billy Buckner was too when he bobbled the ball that would have won the series but Carter was a major player in that series.

I don't remember the game live I was a little kid but Thunderbird remembers it and I have seen the play rerun that Dave Parker of the Pirates throws out Brian Downing of the Angels in the 79 all star game and Carter makes the tag.
I was always a Gary Carter fan.
