anyone have any plans for the holidays. I am working thanksgiving 2-9, black friday 9-6 and saturday 2-11. I hate working the later shifts. people take forever to leave the store. black friday early in the morning is when crowds are at the worst but thank god I won't be in at 5am. black friday I feel sorry for anyone who is working the night shift. store gets trashed that day more then any day of the year. I requested off new years eve and new years day to spend it in philly. were going to see some of our friends in the rocky horror picture show again. this year we have some new people possibly joining us at the fig cafe in jenkintown pa. I still have to work on getting the hotel but im so excited. I would like to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving and safe black friday.

Black Friday is becoming a holiday in and of itself.
Thanksgiving the intent is my parents and my brothers are all supposed to fly down Wednesday and stay through til Sunday. We (myself, Blastgirl and our sons) will probably go to my original hometown after Christmas but before New Years.

omg I hate the 3-midnight shift. I feel so tired at night. but at least you won't have to deal with the morning crowds. and classic it sounds like you will have a fun holiday with family. it's good you get to spend it together. and phil I agree with you on staying clear of stores. only store I would like to go to is goodwill. I don't wanna shop through the mobs.

I'm waiting for Black Friday to see if the airplane I'm looking at will be a better deal...
...I doubt it, though.
....If it is, I'll be visiting Phil and Angel shortly!

buying your own airplane would be awsome then you can fly anywhere you wanna go. I wish I had one but im horrible with directions and would probaly get lost. plus I have no training for flying. I would love to go back to flordia where I went parasailing 800 feet over the water my first time and I was afraid of heights.

There was a time I had to work every single holiday without fail. That was the case from about 1990 until around 2005 and 2006 it finally ended up with enough seniority to get those times off.
At least now I don't work any of the major holidays unless there's an 'all hands' call.
So Thursday is a day dedicated to watching football and eating turkey.

the only holiday I get off is christmas because thank god we are closed that day. I worked every new years for 9 years before some of my friends were in the rocky horror picture show in philly performing. so I request off and go see them and it's a fun way to ring in the new year with people who are always there for you. I wish kmart would give long term employee's holidays off. let slackers work on holidays.

That makes me so mad. People who have no respect for others that way. walking around stores with drinks not caring if they spill it, some of the fast food places where you're supposed to bus your own table but people don't. Its just a terrible lack of respect these days.

people like that make me sick. they stick their gum in the fitting room or sometimes on the clothes. teenagers come on those power wheel chairs and crash it into the clothing racks knocking things over. parents can't be bothered to watch their kids running around the store. and women who start at one end of ladies packages underwear to rip everything open until they get to the other end. I don't get people like that. and the clothing racks people attack it. take clothes throw it over the rack instead of hang it up or watch it drop on the floor and walk away. people buy milk realize they don't want it so they hide it under a clothing rack. but I think it's funny when people stand in the footwear department asking where are slippers. I had one lady in hoisery ask where are pantyhose? all she had to do was go to the next asle and it's right there.
