shocked to hear the day of my vacation amy whinehouse was found dead at age 27 years old. she was younger then me and had her whole life ahead of her. I know in all her pictures she looked so sick I am guessing because of the drugs. I read that her death was unexplained so I guess we will find out more later.

I saw that on line this morning Angel and I am just floored. I loved her music . "Rehab" is my fav. and I play the video on Youtube all the time. She had a lot of "issues" with drugs. I know. Her recording "Rehab" took a lot of balls. She was a very talented girl. R.I.P. Sweetie, Enjoy Rock & Roll Heaven.

Its a shame of course to have young talent die this way. I heard it this morning when they said that Amy Whinehouse, Kirk Cobain and Janice Joplin were the TWENTY SEVEN CLUB all dying at that age.
They all had severe drug trouble though.

I'm afraid I've seen this oh too many times. Drugs ruin life end of story.

Ticking time bomb that finally went off. Her death was ultimately just a matter of time.

Its a shame of course to have young talent die this way. I heard it this morning when they said that Amy Whinehouse, Kirk Cobain and Janice Joplin were the TWENTY SEVEN CLUB all dying at that age. They all had severe drug trouble though. Janice Joplin seemed to get a lot of fame. I personally didn't think she was that good and she wasn't at all pretty but she was willing to make vulgar jokes on tv talk shows like Ed Sullivan and the public enjoyed that. The late 60s and early 70s was an era for embracing the rebel and that got her in the door. Cobain and Amy Whinehouse had talent though. Its a sad story though. Addiction is a very bad thing. Sadly they had so much going and it ends that way. I remember perhaps my 1st celebrity death was Elvis Presley. I was only 6 when he died but my parents had some Elvis records and they let me stay up late and watch an Elvis televised concert, and just a few months later he died.

I remember when they announced that Judy Garland had died . I was eleven and riding in the car with my dad. I screamed "Oh No!" Janis Joplin was the Queen of Rock. She was not a pretty girl but a very talented singer/song writer. She came from Port Arthur Texas and as teen girl was tormented by other kids for being masculine looking and having horrendous acne and pitting of the face. She was rumored to be a lesbian also. She did do heroin but the day she died her dealer was out of town and she got some pretty lethal stuff. She died quickly and so did a lot of others that weekend. She had an amazing voice and a lot of influence on female rock singers of that era.

I heard about her death on Saturday. Sadly because of all her problems with drugs, I did not think she would live very long. It's still very sad, though. She was such a talented songwriter and singer. I'm currently listening to her 'Back To Black' album as I type this. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse.

I mentioned this before but one of the most talented baseball players I ever played with ended up shot to death in a crack house. I believe this guy had the skill to reach the major leagues too.
I posted about that at the time it happened.

When you are an addict you have two choices. You either "Hit Bottom" or you die. I hit my bottom and crawled my way up to sobriety. Amy died. Drugs aren't pretty or glamorous. They are "Pain Killers" or self medication. If you are a celebrity or a People greeter at Wal Mart ;D they can touch you or someone you love.

It's a shame good talent was lost to bad decisions. She should have gone out on good terms. I remember last year when the singer of one of my favorite bands died. He had beaten his addictions and turned things around. He never made it to 50 and probably died because his problems continued for so long before he quit and it did permanent harm. Some people will always chose to self-medicate rather than find a more proactive way to deal with things.

So she died from withdrawal in an attempt to get her life back together in the name of romance. Damn...

Yes, I heard that too. She was trying to detox from alcohol by herself and it killed her.
