I don't disagree that there is a little too much hunting and that has harmed the ecology some.
I can't see killing elephants for the ivory tusks. That's wasteful. I can't see killing a squirrel because you don't want him in your back yard. And nomatter what anybody says, a squirrel is not something to eat. At least not to Phil Ostrotkiewicz of Pennsylvania USA.
If you have seen some of my youtube blogs you see I have some woods behind my house. I take my sons and I will take my daughter there too when she is old enough and I try to point out the animals and try to discuss respecting nature and life overall.
That doesn't mean I can't enjoy a steak once in a while. But I try to keep my kids informed as much as possible.

My mom was shot and wounded by her older brother who was cleaning his gun. He was 17 years old and she was 14. My Grandfather shot and killed a 17 year old boy who was in his backyard. I believe in the right to bear arms but not me, no how no way.

Why did your grandfather kill someone for being in the backyard?

The kid was breaking into his house. Justifiable Homicide.

The kid was breaking into his house. Justifiable Homicide. It's legal to kill a person for breaking into the house? I thought it was only legal to shoot them but not to kill them.

I think when you're home is being invaded it's hard to say 'gee, maybe I should aim for the feet.' You probably just shoot.
Hopefully none of us ever has to make that decision. It's a damned if you do or damned if you don't situation.

It's a damned if you do or damned if you don't situation. Maybe so, but I find it hard to believe the home owner gets away scot free for shooting someone, even if they deserve it. How do you prove they were up to no good?

In my area normal people will knock on my door and I will open it, say hi to each other and I will invite them in. No problem. Defective or stupid people that kick my door in or break my window and crawl into my home have already proven that they are up to no good. This type of behavior is not conclusive to a long life span!

Basically I agree with Farti1 most people with good intentions don't come in through the window.

Adding : This was 34 years ago. The kid was a gang member and his family vowed revenge. My family and cousins and grandpa had to move away. We did not have to. We lived in a different area.
