The boards over the last seven and a half years have had tons of topics. If one cared to read long enough you would find there's very few concepts or discussions of sorts that have not been discussed.
We have talked about baseball, and other sports. Airsoft guns, model making, jobs school class choices, college football, baking, what makes us angry, roofing, cars, car repair, tractor trailer driving, pet and animal care, and yeah even flatulence since I'm married to the queen of that.
The site was founded by Lewa in 2003 and I was one of his friends from Sodarace and two other message boards. I tried to encourage as many people as I could to participate here since it was a new and growing board and Lewa's enterprising talents impressed me.
Most of the membership base we drew from was Sodarace since its a site with a lot of members and both of us had established ourselves there enough to cajole people to check out Lewasite and a lot of them stayed for a time.
Now this thread is to discuss what contributions have been made by various members over the time of Lewasite's long history as proboiards sites go.
LEWA started the boards and put out the initial ground rules. Sizzlepop maintained the site and upheld its pattern of ways for the first 2.5 years of Lewasite.
Spartan was an early contributor in posts models and making progressive headway.
Phil for the full 7 years has made discussion possible by keeping things going and even video promoting lewaiste.
Jersey and Demona have been good moderators in recent years to keep the site's tradition in tact.
The members who post daily or nearly daily like Beangirl and Phil, and fartinggurl, I and all of the active members who do their best to keep it active.
After all wihtout posts the site would lose activity fast. If checked upon and no change after a short time members would stop checking and that would be it.
So I'm also remembering _glitch_ who went through the extra effort to find Lewa when we needed help restoring the site or losing it altogether.
If anybody else would like to mention I'd love to know.

Well I can add to the discussion. I know that since I joined here back in 2006, the site has gone through quite a number of changes. Many of the original membership has gone their separate ways; their reasons I feel usually range from ideological differences with the current membership that made coexistence impossible or too difficult to bother with, or other ambitions or endeavors that led them away from here and onto other things. Although it cut the participation down a considerable amount, the people who have stuck around and continue to post have become a very friendly and tight knit group of members, resulting in a peaceful forum where everyone feels comfortable.
Our moderation team is strong. With Classic at the helm (after a considerably rough start due to what I call a forum assassination attempt) the forum has become much more secure. With my appointment as an Administrator and the appointment of several other good moderators, we've become a site where everyone can participate without feeling uncomfortable about what another member might say. Any trouble that arises is handled swiftly and efficiently, and that comes from a good moderating team.
Mahnarch brought with him his own unique style of posting and discussion that keeps me endlessly amused. Blastgirl and Kimm are irreplaceable as leading members, as are Demona and Phil. I try and post wherever I can, although graduate school and work constantly keep me busy. But it should be known that although I don't post much, I poke my head in at least twice a day and make sure all is well. Jason and thunderbird are always nice to hear from when the occasion calls, and Pumpkin falls into that category as well. Lewa will even appear on rare occasions, which is nice because he is the founder.
It's fun to watch this forum change over time. Members move on with their lives. Some of us have started new relationships. Others have gotten married. Some have had children. Graduated high school or college. Gone for higher degrees. Had family members pass on. To me this place is more like a community of neighbors and friends than an Internet forum.

I remember _glitch_ helping when the undesirables attempted to destroy the forum and frame Classic. I also remember Jersey's efforts along the way to repave the destroyed roads.
Beangirl, Demona, Fartinggurl, Mahnarch, Angel607 along with Kimm, Blastgirl, and so many others have helped to grow the forum into a partially new but definitely working discussion place.
I think Classic probably has done the most overall though.

Thank you Phil.
I do wish that some others who log in and just don't comment would comment on something that helps us kick discussion around. Sometimes its hard when enough has already been said about things though.

i remember when I first herd of this site through phil on youtube. I really enjoy reading all the new topics and doing some writing like venting about slacker's and reading some great farting stories. the farting one's always makes me laugh.

Its changed its facade a bit too. Most of the topics are on the serious side even if theres a humorous twist. Originally there were more breezy posts. But then an element of people decided to tell us that it was wrong to post a reply in a topic that hadnt been replied to in 48 hours. I sometimes go more than 2 days without going on board but I might be interested in commenting on a subject even if I wasnt there when it was originally posted.
The aforementioned would also tell you that they didnt post unless what they had to say was well though out. Not that everything they posted was well thought out but thats what they would say.

To me . It's family at it's finest. I come here to share, laugh, cry ,listen and support my friends. It is home.

Around August we will be getting a new member. My son Eric will turn 8 and he continues to remind me that when Jason was 8 I let him join lewasite.

I do wish we had a larger group of regulars, and I regret that my participation has dropped down. It's come a long way since when I first joined, on the end of "dark" times. It's fine to disagree, but personalities clashed and those of us who felt we were being pushed out pushed back. Like the above was stated, it really is like a virtual community of neighbors rather than internet strangers. I knew Mahnarch from the old forum, but finally met him while we were members here. I look forward to seeing Eric when he arrives!

i think it's great your son eric will be joining. I think it's fun to get into so many different topics. this is like therapy for me. I was told I slept through some storm that came to allentown about 4am. I would of loved to film but not at that hour.

I dont log into my computer everyday so I dont hit all my sites as often as some people. Some people have to have net time daily. I dont always. Most of my friends will even sacrifice sleep or meal time if the rest of their day is too busy for the internet but I usually dont do that.

The aforementioned would also tell you that they didnt post unless what they had to say was well though out. Not that everything they posted was well thought out but thats what they would say. I remember that. In other words if our posts didn't interest them it was a waste of their time and forum space to have it there. And you're right when something posted hat 'teh' accidentally typed, they would post 'the' sarcastically. Some of the ladies posted pictures of themselves and the reply was 'I'd hit that' To me that doesn't seem well thought out or intelligent as they claimed to be.

I would like to increase our membership and the post and discussion count. Currently we are in a drought as a forum in new threads to discuss. I would prefer that over hostility or adding members who have attitude and are overly confrontational but I would like to see more discussion.

I admit it has been a couple months since I logged on here, and I'll try to post on here more, but I look at this as more then just a discussion board. Some of the people I know on here are from the long gone farts.com board, and I have discussed with them since I was 15, so for about 10 years. Even though I do not personally know anyone on the board, and have not personally met any of them, I feel close to them, like they are family.

Being that I am overnight shift I tend to come on around 2 when kids are still in school or at least not needing my undivided attention I usually have about an hour a day. Sometimes I can come back just before work but not always. Its unusual for me to not get any internet chance at all in a day's time but it happens once in a while.

I would love to post but I'm probably done for the night, my four year old son is vomiting and has a high fever. I work second shift so I can stay up until he can finally sleep. I don't want to wake Blastgirl or my seven year old who has school in the morning.
I'm trying my mother's chicken soup recipe see if that helps.

The forum was jammed a few days ago. I tried posting things and nothing sent. I found out our server was the problem not the forum itself. I contacted proboards about our problem and they explained that their server #18 which lewasite runs off of had some trouble but they fixed it within a few hours probably had to reboot the server but whatever they did worked.
