I say this Harold Camping is out to lunch. He is 90 years old and has studied the bible for more than 70 years and he calculates the end of the world this very evening. The end of the world has been predicted at least 1000 times before so far theyve been wrong.
Do I really have to correct all these exams? I'm going to wait til 6:30 pm and if the Apocalypse happens, Im not going to do it so ha!

I had a dream on Monday night that the end was coming and everyone was boarding up the windows and running around scared. I was in bed crying with joy that Jesus was coming to take me home.

I don't like the panic these fundamentalists cause.
I understand they have the right to interpret scripture however it looks to them to be written. I wonder if guys like Reverend Camper and other fundamentalist bible studiers who come to these conclusions really believe these things, or if they want the publicity.
Wanting the publicity and getting others to panic and do what you say only because they trust you and think you're the only one who can help them is cultish. Especially if they're doing it for their own desire of power and they're getting their thrills having others act upon panic they created.
When it doesn't happen there's a definite void though and how many times can you miscalculate before you become either a liar or a quack?
Neither reputation is too good. This guy will be 90 soon and probably doesn't care too much about his credibility now he's made his living by now.

Obviously this Camping isn't the Bible scholar he things he is or he wouldn't have miscalculated by so much multiple times. hahaha.

I didn't die. Obviously, I'm not worthy.
You would think that an Atheist with Christian morals* would pass the test....
*actually, Jedi morals...

i saw the crazy stuff on ebay people were trying to sell off this jugement day. some ball that will protect you when the zombies come for 500 bucks. I also herd crazy stories people blew their life savings and quit their job because they thought they were going to die. I wonder what they are feeling now. I went to work as usual and as I knew nothing happened. I herd something about online for the news the something for disease control made a zombie kit or how to protect you from zombie attacks. I probaly have that really wrong but I thought I saw that. I think if a zombie came at me I would get my video camera and put it on youtube lol. they made a big deal out of nothing. I think if were all going to die when the world comes to a end nobody will be able to predict that. only god knows what will happen.

I am subscribed to Phil on youtube and I see this video. Well stated I think. Angel607, I don't get the buying and selling on E Bay either. If the World is going to be over that soon what are we going to with whatever goods we buy on EBay? ;D Unless they're selling a Rocket that can take us to a World that's not doomed.

There's no way we can stop it if that was what was going to happen.

I see others are saying this already but I am wondering it too. How does Reverend Camping, a Biblical studier, and respected for being knowledgeable for some expertise if not considered to be an expert, then he has twice predicted via calculation of what he figured out through scripture.
How would he expect to be taken seriously now? Thats at least his second major miscalculation. He seems to have spent hundreds of thousand dollars to get support and force the news that the end is here.
Maybe when you get to be almost 90 you dont care about your credibility for the future but I cant see the beatifically factor of being though of as senile or a fanatic.

So Camping is out there again today saying he miscalculated a bit but October 21 is the real Apocalypse. This guy really ought to stop before he destroys any credibility he has left. He's even somewhat explained how he came up with these calculations through interpretation of scripture. Its getting silly though.

I woke up on Sunday Morning at 5 am for work. As I drove to work there was not a soul around and I thought. DOH! I knew I should have prayed harder!

blastgirl I had a good laugh at the $500.00 crystal ball that can predict you from doomsday. also my sister said she herd people killed themselves before 6pm and their pets because they thought it was their last day. I also think the news should pay no attention to the guy because people panic and get scared for no reason. I just don't think it's possible dead bodies come out of the grave as zombies are going to attack me. if I am going to die nobody will know not even the psychics and their magic crystal ball.

That's such a hokey comic book thing about the crystal ball. Some people believe it I guess. The panic created unnecessarily is unbelievable too.
What science does he have that this is going to be the end? Did any other of the many thousands of bible studiers arrive at the same calculation for all his end of the world supposition? There's hundreds of evangelists on tv alone let alone world over, they all study the bible and interpret it and make their living doing so.
I for one would think if there was merit to Harold Camping's prophesy at least some other famous ministers would share that belief that the calculations arrive at the dates Camping predicted.

I go back and forth on how I feel about people's reaction. I could get mad at Professor Camping for people's panic to the point where they might kill themselves. Then again I can also say that they need to be more rational than to consider Camping's explanation as something to really panic over.
If they're wired toward worrying they're going to be more inclined to believe doomsday. Then who is to blame them or Camping? It could be either.
Like Kim said it can be hard to take him seriously when he has predicted what he has and been wrong twice now with major predictions.
Nostradamus too I am sick and tired of Nostradamus. Everything that ever happened was predicted by Nostradamus and made to fit no matter how far fetched the analogy is.
People just live your life. There's nothing you can do if the world is really about to end. Let it happen or not as the days progress. Never mind ancient Nostradamus script and Professor Camping.

i like what phil said how you should live your life and if the world end's there's nothing you can do to stop it. if you go to get your future told and they tell you something really bad will happen to you and you might not make it in life. you can't just end it. I know there are so many people sick in the hospital and sometimes doctor's make big mistakes like tell you you will never walk again or you have 2 year's to live. you can't give up you need to try and prove them wrong. you only get one life and you need to live it the best you can. I was prepared to kick some zombie butt on doomsday lol. I am kidding. but if more people at once predicted the end and the news believed it I still would not end it. I would rather go out fighting knowing I lived a happy life most of the time with great people and take with me the best memories.
