i have a funny story. last friday diamond did not help me with returns and when she went on a 15 minute break she was gone once again for 40 minutes. she was also caught hanging in layaway for 30 minutes doing nothing. well last sunday I woke up with pain in my middle back and my chest felt tight when I went to breathe. my friend thinks my blood pressure might be high due to the stress. last sunday diamond was straightening a big table in kidswear clothing only she moved the table in front of the ladies fitting room and left it. my co-worker pat saw it and cursed through the walkie talkie wanting to know who would do something like this. the manager had to pull her aside saying to be careful when the walkie is on. well the funny part is diamond actually said to my co-worker pat she doesn't understand why kmart has not given her a raise ever since she started. she's smart with a good head on her shoulders and she is studying to be a rn or something and she has a job lined up at a hospital. then she said well I think I am going to quit before they fire me. okay that really made me laugh. and you wonder why you never get a raise. okay on to the good news I am excited for. I am hopeing to get tickets for the selena gomez concert at hershey park so I am saving and selling stuff on ebay. I saw selena last year at musikfest but the venue was the worst I ever seen. I had problems with parents letting their kids sit on their shoulders when they were standing so we couldn't see. teenage girls stood on their chairs. security was a joke there. concert is in august. and more good news. we got a new girl in softlines who actually works!! I was so happy for that. she helped me straighten and did a great job. she also came up to me and asked if I wanted help with returns. omg she did more work in 1 day then diamond did in 2 years. I am so happy we have her.

I hope you get your tickets. I know how it is to want to get tickets to something when supply is limited it can be very tough. There's an incredible stupidity and arrogance about this Diamond. First of all there are no jobs lined up. You have to win them and that's a constant. I am positive no hospital is waiting to add her or any nurse to the staff as soon as they get that piece of paper.
It doesn't work that way. And a self proclaimed "good head on her shoulders." She has some idea that she's useless though if she's going to "quit before they fire me," then she knows that the possibility of being fired is very real.

Its incredible how much some people think they get done. Or how well they think they do it.
We have some of those dufas types here. I mentioned a kid texting trough a shift. Finally Brian told him to put away the phone saying 'we are overnight workers, if your friends are up at this hour and not at work then they have nothing to wake up for, but you have a job to do and if I see that thing again for personal texting I'm going to hit you over the head with it.'
That same person would go home and tell their friends how difficult it is to be on overnight shift and how demanding it is. The only problem is when management knows you're a dipcrap your job is not demanding. They'd rather that the dipcrap didn't do anything at least then they didn't mess it up.

i agree with you classicblast. I have never seen someone so lazy in my entire life. it's just why I don't want to work with her because I know when I do it's going to be a miserable night. tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow and I am trying to get good seats this time. I could try ebay depending on their prices.
phil we need management like brian. I think when your strict with slackers you can make them work. the management we have were told to go to them with problems. but I mean what's the point if they are going to make us babysit them and do their work. if you don't understand how to work they should go to the unemployment line and see what that's like. I think management should start getting in the girl's face and make her do something. I don't know how she will work in a hospital when she can't even fold clothes.

concert tickets are great
i plan on going to more of them this year
my mom is a bit more willing to let me go to more of them this year I have to figure out what performers will be close in the next few months

that's great jason. concerts make some really great memories. only bad part is some of the tickets are so high. last one I saw was justin bieber and he was not that good. my favorite song he cut short. but I always love hanging out with people and just doing something fun.
and demona I hope diamond goes but at this point I doubt it. the girls screws us all over does nothing so we have to clean up her department by straightening. like last saturday I was really angry. pat said guess what diamond called off. I stood there with a horrible look on my face frozen and said omg what lol. we got slammed with returns had to take signs down and I had to do jewelery. then she called 9:30pm and asked the manager when she works next. he said why are you planning to call off that day to. I did have a great sunday. saturday night pat told me diamond had off sunday. I said oh thats good. pat laughed and said I never herd you say anything bad about someone like that your to funny. I said sorry but I am tired how she goes on 15 minute breaks and comes back 40 minutes later. the girl gets away with everything. and the reason I think she called off was she was complaining before she has not had a raise in 2 years. kmart is just stupid for keeping her.

When you're as useless as that you're just lucky they don't fire you. She'd be better off keeping a low profile and hope they don't notice.
I know what you mean about Sunday though you can get more done without those people than with them.
A temp last summer was so stupid My foreman and I were putting in a light pole and this guy was not qualified for it so he was just getting us tools and parts. He couldn't even do that right or he was on his phone and whatever. Finally Brian said to him 'just stand here where I can see you so at least if you f something up I'll know what I have to fix.' That was kind of funny. They wont be using him this summer.

lol that was funny. it's humor like that kmart management needs to start using. if people want to be a stupid slacker they should be called on that. maybe it would drive them to work and actually do something. because people who work hard are the ones that have to suffer and it's not fair. I am tired of having to straighten diamond's department because she can't get anything done. if the girl would stop going on breaks that last forever and talking at the service desk stuff would get done. I didn't sign up to babysit.

Slackers are soo annoying. It seems that for every hard worker, there are always two or three dumbasses. If you get tickets to the concert, I hope you have fun. The last concert I saw was Nickelback, Seether, and Saving Abel in Columbus back in 2009. My friends and I tried to get floor seats, but they were sold out and we had to sit in the regular seats, but we still had fun.

omg I love them all so much. your so lucky you got to see them. I have loved nickleback since I was 20 and seether sang a amazing some with amy lee I think called broken. one day I hope to see nickleback. I did get the tickets for selena and gave them to my friend. I have my ticket but I paid for 2 other people so I wont be alone and I wanted to do something fun with them. the tickets on ticketmaster said warning obstructed view for hershey. I got section e row 3 so it looks like the seats are crappy. but this is my first time ever going to hershey and I can't wait. I agree with you about slackers. I hate them and I am sick and tired of them getting away with crap. diamond last week came into work 5:45-10:00pm. she told my co-worker she was going on a 15 minute break. my co-worker went to check on her 30 minutes later and she's in the break room still. pat told the manager and he had to make her go back out on the floor. when pat said she is no longer a minor I said she should of not had a break at all on a 4 hour day. they ended up cutting her hours last weekend. I hate the day's I work with her.

Its amazing how much "slack" gets cut so some slackers. Phil mentioned a few posts up that his foreman told a guy to just ave things alone because he figures at least then he isn't messing up. My brother says things like that too. Phil's work is probably union and highly regulated they might not just be able to get rid of some people just like that, but I know for a fact our family business is not union Thunderbird could just fire such a person I have asked him why he doesn't. Sometimes his answer is simply "I need bodies for certain things and I don't have time to interview different people." I think it would be better to make the time if the incumbents are this bad. |
