How do such young people get themselves in these terrible positions.
I blogged about 2 years ago when a friend of my brothers who was a drug and drinker died of an apparent overdose. Its even on this forum but I can find it and paste it to here it was among my October 2008 videos.
This kid wasn't anywhere near as bad as these 3 punk faced lemonsucking illegitimate childs that I would just love to take out back and beat the ever living crap out of.
They're about 18 or 19 now, they're frequently in court or on probation for vandalism, and other things that get the police called. I've suspected they were responsible for a farm market that was robbed about 3 months ago.
The 1 was kicked out of school before or during his senior year the other did graduate but you can avoid hard academic challenges if you're just after a diploma I doubt he really learned anything
Now they're on facebook and YouTube talking about how tough they are and their gang. *which consists of just more similar but less daring* I think its more that their other friends have parents that care more and so they fall just short of the trouble these other 2 get themselves into.
I know it starts with parenting.
Ok--sure-- I do realize that some kids are going to go wrong no matter how much the parents try or how strict they are or how much they try to demonstrate the right way to do things. Some kids will go wrong anyway I realize that.
But most of the time it does start at home.
When I was a teenager and if I had been arrested, I'd be saying 'put me in jail, lock me up, don't call my parents. At least in a holding center I'd have rights at home I'd have none.'
There's parents out there now who see no problem with letting their 13 and 14 yearolds sit home and drink beer too. NOT THIS DAD!
And I don't need to hear the 'they're going to do it anyway' line. If they know its not condoned they have more respect for rules.
There's a find line sometimes not seen between having the guts or just lack of respect.

Theres a real problem about parents not caring what the kids are doing. A lot of the time they know.
We had a 14 year old freshman get in trouble around Christmas time from our school. His parents said somthing like "His brother was home on military leave they havent seen each other since he left last June and we had a home coming party. I guess that meant that it was ok for the 14 year old and his friends to get drunk and go to wal mart.

It happens in schools too. It happened a little when I was growing up and its worse now. I was a jock so I'm not entirely unbiased here, but there are some times that jocks do things like get low grades, or miss school or even get in trouble and they're marked present given bonus points and make up tests sometimes just slapped on the wrist when others can't be so lucky.
That sometimes leads to believing there are no ramifications for you when you're a good athlete.
It happens at higher levels too. Look how many chances Daryl Strawberry got because he was good. Its not fair but its for real.

All I can say on this topic is : I live in Los Angeles, California . In my 53 years here. I have seen everything you have just talked about X 100. Yes I agree it has a lot to do with parenting. Or lack of...

It usually starts at home. I still think sooner or later people need to realize when what they're doing isn't working its time to change their methods though.

I don't know what makes these cocky punks think they're tough. The 1 nice thing is now they're 18 or better and I can punch them in the face if our path crosses in such a way. Don't think I'd hesitate either.
The 1 should be on probation but it got dropped somehow. Feeling sorry for a young guy is not really helping him there.

they are always in trouble somebody reported motorcycles stolen from their barn a few days later the bikes were found smashed
those 2 are suspects in that case but nobody knows for sure. I know those 2 were brought in and questioned and might be in court for that too i think both bikes were fixable but they were taken from a barn and ridden through the woods and heavily damaged and left in a field

Those guys will be in and out of trouble all their life. Possibly imprisoned definitely with criminal records. They wont be able to get any jobs with reputable people. Some people might take a chance on them in order to pay them less. They'll drift for the most of it and get in trouble periodically too.

Theyre also the guys who will come close to getting into scrums with men would would clobber them and among their friends theyd say "I would have kicked his A55." But they really know otherwise theyd still say that out of the danger of having to actually live up to that.

Blastgirl liked telling the Waffle House story I was kind of in different to it but I'll tell it here because of the context of this topic. Some kids, and they weren't really kids, they were 19 to 22 I guess. At that time I was probably 27. They were at the next table throwing things and acting like animals. I turned around and said if anything ends up over here I'm going to be quite angry. A creamer a metal cream pourer with the flip flop lid landed on our table. One of them comes over and says "Sorry I think that's ours." I said "It is huh?" I squeezed the rim of it almost flat and handed it back to him. They were obviously impressed they got quiet and left in a few minutes.

i have never been arrested or been in trouble with the law. the last thing I would ever want is a record. I also don't get people who shoplift. going to jail is not a fun place. I know my co-worker was arrested in a low cut dress and bragged about it all over work. parents really need a wake up call and pay attention to their kids.

I worked with a girl who was drunk driving and rolled over her car. Not over like the movies but flipped it onto its side she tried to switch lanes to get to the exit too fast and flipped up. They tested her and declared her DWI.
This was a long drawn out Court process. It took about six months and at least five hearings and a high priced Lawyer. The final verdict was NOT GUILTY.
Most of us would think we were lucky not to be found guilty. This girl figured she wasn't guilty.
Anybody else I know would have known they were in the wrong and would be a little bit thankful that they're not going to have to "Pay the Piper" as the saying is. This girl (in her mind at least) had been made not guilty.
I remember Classic crushing the milk dispenser.

Yes they shut right up. I think they were aware it was going to be their face next.
