i was just looking at aol about them talking about a reality show on mtv. I went to look at the trailer on youtube so I could see what they are talking about. it looks like out of control teens drinking, smoking and doing ileagal things. also most teens are half dressed and to say it mildly engaging in risky behavior. first I think the show should never air because it is discusting and kids should not be watching this. 2nd I have herd bad things about mtv reality shows. on teen mom they filmed while this girl amber hit the father of her child as they filmed. jersey shore I herd snooki got drunk to the point she needed treatment and they filmed it for ratings. I think I herd she went to the emergency room but I am not sure on that one. it's pretty gross that for mtv to get ratings they need to destroy lives like this. they should make a reality tv show about teens using their money wisely like saving up for stuff or being in credit card debt and filming their plan to get out.

I just watched a scared straight program on A&E earlier tonight. I think MTV produces trash, and I stopped watching it years ago. Shame on anyone who portrays idiocy as a classy lifestyle.

Its a little too much of a reality if you ask me. There's enough kids into what they shouldn't be there's no need to encourage it. And reflecting it in a television show encourages it. If you display it you're going to trigger interest in teenagers getting into things they shouldn't be.
I know a few sets of parents already that seem to think its ok to let their high school aged kids and their friends get together and drink beer.

The wrong doing starts at home. Parent and teacher meetings the parents complain that you failed their kid and that youre not giving their kid better grades.
I cant do any more than assign something and grade whats right or wrong on tests. Ill agree sometimes the teaching can be to blame when a student doesnt learn but most times they didnt read their assignment, or do any of hte research needed to pass the tests. But Miss Youngstone gave them a 53, and Mr Garver gave them a referral.
And kids drinking alcohol and dealing drugs or wanting to be in gangs is getting to be a problem everywhere. I think Angel607 is right that does not need to be given any exposure that can be construed as allowable practice.

I wanted to see that show. When I was a teenager (or young adult?) they had a T.V. special(before cable) call "Scared Straight" It was so huge in ratings that they also filmed a "Scared Straight 2". The took young kids already juvenile offenders at risk and put them in prison with hard core convicts who were all more happy to tell them what awaited them in prison. It was awesome.

I'd like to see more of that displayed. I have sadly seen what drug addiction and dependence can do to people. I've seen my share of good baseball players lose their chance at a career over it. I posted a few years ago here about one specific player who was let go after several attempts to rehabilitate him had failed. He ends up running junk on the streets and the end result was they found his body shot in a crack house one morning. He was easily the best player I ever played on a team with and was well on his way to being in the major leagues. I have no doubt he not only would have made the majors I think he would have excelled. He was really that good. I played with hundreds of men for 15 years and none of them impressed me like that with talent and none of them angered me that much with their stinking addiction that ruined his professional life and ended his personal life.

Skins is actually based on a television show in the United Kingdom, which bears the same name, is not a reality show. The UK version, while it does deal with teens engaging in risky behaviors, shows how teens on the verge of adulthood deal with controversial issues: such as mental illness, step parents and step siblings, sexual orientation, and death.
I think MTV is thinking that they can make the show better, but I doubt it. I'm so tired of seeing people doing drugs and getting drunk as entertainment, and because of that, I don't watch MTV anymore.
