newsfeed.time.com/2011/01/13/horoscope-hang-up-earth-rotation-changes-zodiac-signs/According to astronomers from Minnesota, the Zodiac signs have been wrong for over 1000 years, and also because of the rotation of the earth, we now have an additional zodiac sign, called Ophuchicus, so instead of 12 signs of the zodiac, we now have 13. Personally I don't really believe in astrology, but I still think this is just ridiculous. It was just when scientists decided to no longer have Pluto be considered a planet because it was not the right size to be classified as a planet. I'm starting to believe that those scientists have too much time on their hands.

How does this guy suddenly find the wrong of the ways of thousands of years of Astrology. Or else they knew they were off for a while now and this guy is the first to bring it to the forefront but I doubt it.
Obviously there's varying beliefs on just about everything and a reason why that's expressed the new and different way.

Are they saying that we've been wrong all along, or that the change in the earth's planetary position and relationship with the stars is different from how this was originally established?
On June 14 1971 I was declared a Gemini and that's what I'll stay. Old habits don't break easy. Especially when I don't subscribe too much to astrology but some stereo types do seem to have truth to them. I could never live or die by that.

I didnt' think of that. I guess the solarsystem can evolve to different positions and alignments. I still find that sort of bogus though.

I'm not big into astronomy to the extent that a few of my good friends are, but I find it quite funny that I am essentially the walking definition of the Taurus male. Stubborn, appreciates the finer things in life (food/antiques), very hard to piss off (but dangerous if you do), and very laid back. That's just scratching the surface but you get the picture.
People these days are trying to change everything, from food to laws to our very way of life in a lot of respects. It's happened throughout history though, so this doesn't surprise me.

I was going to post about this, but you beat me to it! I was a Gemini, I'm now a Taurus. My birthday was right in between, so you could say I'd fit into either. I'll read horoscopes once in a while, and sometimes they made sense, but they can be interpreted so many ways. The bottom line is the concept of Zodiacs is a man made thing and you can take what you want from it. I don't take it seriously, but can't say it's not interesting at all. It's funny though, how my Chinese sign is Year of the Ox, and now Taurus the bull. Similar animals, what does that mean? Lol!

I see that a lot of people aren't so agreeable to see this new viewpoint. I am one of those people. Not because I resist change as is probably the case with many anytime something new and different in introduced. This just seems so foolish. I really spit on it at first. The only thing that helps me possibly see it a little bit is the question Phil raised if the solar and planetary arrangement has changed making the dates different for each sign.

Actually we don't have to change our astrological signs. If you were born before 2011, your astrological sign does not change, so if you were born in 1986 under the sign of Cancer, you are not all of a sudden a Gemini, you are still a Cancer. The zodiac sign changes do not effect us; they effect people born in and after the year 2011 because the change in the alignment of the stars happened in 2011, not earlier. It's still ridiculous, though.
