It boggles the mind that nobody was able to fully grasp the true extent of the mental illness exhibited by Jared Loughner prior to the shooting that happened on the 8th, which resulted in the deaths of 6 people, including a young child and a federal judge, and the injuries of 14 others, including the critical ones suffered by Congresswoman Giffords. It is truly miraculous that she is expected to survive a point blank gunshot to the head. But what isn't so miraculous is the six deaths attributed to the barrel of a madman, who did nothing short of execute them in a massacre that has the full attention of the nation.
Other forms of mental illness are also prevailing along with Loughner's own. It didn't take long for the Left, their pundits, and those in Congress to immediately begin accusing the Right Wing of being responsible for the massacre. I think Rush Limbaugh, one of those accused of responsibility, said it best that the old Communist method of "never letting a good crisis or tragedy go to waste" is being used once more and that Leftists were and are rubbing their palms with glee over the deaths of these people and the madness of the shooter. They are gleeful because it gave them a way in which to accuse the Right Wing, the Tea Party Movement, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Republicans, and Conservative Americans of inciting hatred and inspiring Loughner to commit his crime. Falsely and without evidence, obviously, but facts and evidence rarely matter to Leftists anyway. Besides, any language being spoken is certainly less intense than the language the Founding Fathers spoke in response to the tyranical nature of England before the start of the Revolutionary War, but Leftists also have limited or no interest in history either.
Using this tragedy as a means of inciting hatred against the Right is morally reprehensible, and I hope these people have to answer for their behavior one day. It also didn't take long before certain Democratic members of Congress started drafting legislation to severaly cut into and undermine the 1st and 2nd Amendments, by way of empowering the FCC to arrest and prosecute those they determine are making "incendiary speech that will incite violence". Translation: Conservative commentary, talk radio, and basically any point of view that does not match or agree with Leftist ideology, which will always get a free pass.
Case in point
Did these people get in trouble for their behavior? No. Did they get media exposure? No. Is it their right to say what they feel? Yes. Are they wrong? Yes. But, most importantly, it is their right to say what they want, guaranteed by the 1st Amendment. But according to their side, it is only ok if they speak incendiary language. It's called the Liberal Double Standard. What is ok for them to do is never ok for anyone on the other side to do. Remember, they are the enlightened people destined to save the world and make everyone equal. Conservatives are just stupid morons clinging to guns, hate speech, and religion.
As for the 2nd Amendment, the solution is simply more gun control "to restrict criminality and accessibility of firearms to criminals". Translation: Decrease the ability for law abiding citizens to buy firearms for their own protection, increase necessary reliance on the government for protection against criminals that still have guns, and eventually lead the disarmed sheep to destruction and the death of Capitalism/American way. Like Stalin, Mao, and Hitler once did with their own people.
It's a shame that the Left has politicized this tragedy to the extent that they have. Needless to say, it doesn't surprise me. They've done it before, and they will do it again and again. Until people see them for what they are.
In the meantime, my thoughts and prayers go out to the innocent victims that fell to the gun of a madman. They also go out to the preservation of our God given, inalienable rights that many in office wish to take away forever.
