This belongs in the news forum since we are discussing well,... news
This thread is probably a week later than it should be since the forum's foundation took place on November 9, 2003. I don't think I joined the very 1st day but I remember Classic telling me about the forum and I signed up. I wasn't active daily then but I gradually became more into the routine of it.
Much has changed and yet a lot stays the same. I'm probably more the same than most people here are and most of the original members.
In a 7 year span people like Lewa and Sizzlepop have transformed from middle school, to high school and are currently in or nearly finished with college.
Familywise my children have grown from age 6 to 13, newborn to age 7 and not thought of to age 3.
Me personally, I'm about the same. Age 32 to age 39 isn't that much different. I'm definitely a little fatter and might have slowed down in reflexes but mostly I'm the same.
The forum has gone through several changes of demographics but that will happen with anything.
In 20 years on the job the company has changed some policy, personnel changes over time, so do some methods. I doubt anything remains fully unchanged over years.

I joined the forum in July of 2006, three years after its creation. I had just graduated high school a month prior to my joining. I went to football camp the next month, and now the forum has seen me through four years of undergraduate university work and four years of college football, up and to I graduated with my B.A. in History with a minor in Archaeology. If things go right the forum will hopefully see me through graduate school, my career starting, marriage, and kids. Who knows?
I've been pretty happy with the forum over the last four plus years, especially with my evolution from starting member "Testing Waters" to a site Administrator.

The forum started out as a site to discuss soda construction, those are the string models that walk or fly for those who were not part of lewasite in the beginning. But soda construction, lego construction or video games were the main thrust at the beginning. But we've partially evolved to a home base for touching base with people we know on various forums throughout the internet Lewasite has become our flagship.

i never knew that. my first video game system I owned was a nintendo. I loved playing the mario and luigi. video games sure have changed since my day. but I like this website over other ones because there are so many interesting topics on here. I used to go on a yahoo chat room but it was filled with to many crazy hateful people. I left a long time ago. it's nice to be in a website like this with all friendly people.

Happy 7 years, Lewasite. I was originally from the farts.com board, and some of the members from there were on this site, but I was not a member here. When the fart board went up for sale, I eventually found my way here, and it was so great to get back in touch with some of the farts.com members. I have been here for 2 years, and I'm looking forward to many more great years with Lewasite.

This could end up being a 'where were you when you joined lewasite?'
I was at home and I had gotten Classic's memo a day or so earlier but I was off the night before going into the day of Thanksgiving. I was just starting to get Holidays off I didn't get them all off yet but that time I did get Thanksgiving more because other guys put in for Deer hunting days that opened Thanksgiving for me to be off. It was more like 2 or 3 years later I was more often getting the holidays of choice off.

Yes Phil and you are now the senior most posted member of Lewasite. I know that's not something you count and keep track of but it is a milestone you have.
