The results of yesterday's election are simply amazing. The liberals in the House of Representatives had their political careers fried and served up on a platter. "Gavel Hag" Nancy Pelosi has officially been fired as Speaker of the House. My own candidate won his seat in the House. As of right now, the results are still coming in, but it appears that the Republican Party mopped the floor with the Democrats by gaining over 60 seats, which sets a record for most seats gained by a single party in American history. Pelosi, of course, showed absolutely no class in her concession speech by giving no congratulations to the Republicans and repeating her usual drivel that the Democrats have done everything they can to save the American people. Yeah, right. If socialism and political/monetary enslavement to an out of control, enormous federal government is saving the American people....
Although the Republicans did not capture the Senate, they still made some huge gains. A very notable one is the defeat of Democrat Senator Feingold in Illinois, Barack and Michelle Obama's home political state. Both Obama and his wife spent a considerable amount of time stumping for him, and the fact that he still lost, as well as the GOP snatching House seats from Illinois, shows that Obama has lost his base support. That will be a huge factor for 2012 when he is officially given the boot out of the White House. Republicans also did well in electing the Tea Party backed conservatives Marco Rubio in Florida and Rand Paul in Kentucky. Other gains were also made. Although the majority was not captured, the filibuster is alive in well in the Senate now and the Democrats no longer have the supermajority they had when they pushed through the socialism they did, namely the trillion dollar "stimulus" bill (socialistic redistribution of wealth) and the Obamacare health bill (government takeover of private entities).
Yesterday, the American people stood up and put a check on socialism, Obama, and liberlism. I couldn't be happier right now. but there is still work to be done. 1 in 10 American workers is out of work, and each and every one of us, thanks to the spending, owes about $40,000 thanks to Washington spending. Boehner, the new House Speaker, was correct in saying this is no time to celebrate. I have faith this new Republican House will get the ball rolling towards getting America back on the right track. But more importantly, they know that they had better keep their promises and follow through on repairing the damage the Democrats have done.
Now we begin working for 2012.
