I've been working on this project for three months and we're jus about ready to build a clearspan building that is nearly 20,000 sqft for this guy and now there's reports being sent back to archetects to refit the building.
I'm this close to telling this turkey forget it.
My workers have lots to do and waiting for someone who thinks that changes can be made on a hunch is not one of them.
In computer language you would call him a n00b. A 37 year old contractor calls him something else but since this in an edited board I'll mark it down to turkey.

We have a lot of those people at my work too.
Someone who has to outsmart the already planned system.
There's other terms that have changed too. Today people say 'you fail.' when they are suggesting you didn't accomplish what you intended to.
When I was in high school and even after the same term was 'you lose, you lose big!'
A 20,000 square feet building is huge what does it cost to put up something like that?

It's funny how some animals become the pattern for what people get called.
A turkey means dumb. A chicken means a coward. A rat means sneaky person. A snake, same as rat. A pig means a slob.
There are some that suggest a positive thing too. A fox means clever. A horse means a hard worker.
Any others?

A jellyfish is somebody who is weak willed. A tiger is a tough person. A bat is a person who doesn't see well.

An old bat is a creepy old lady. A squirrel is a jittery person.

I hate folks like that.
One example comes to mind.
I had a car come into my garage and I diagnosed a list of things that would need to be done to get this car 'acceptable' again.
She says over the phone, "Yeah. I wanna get all those things done." So, I proceed to replace the leaky water pump. Replace the belt. Flush the coolant. Change the oil (which was pretty much a solid sludge), Put 2 new tires on the front and replaced the upper radiator hose that was swollen and ready to burst at any 'long trip's' notice.
I did this all in one day (record time for 'any' garage) and she comes in to pay the $850 (heavily discounted) bill and throws a fit saying, "She didn't want all that done....RIGHT NOW!"
Why the duece didn't she specify? "Yeah. I wanna get all those things done." = "Yes. Do everything, right now."
***
For the animal list:
"I smell a rat" "Smells like a skunk" "Stubborn as a mule" "Quick as a fox" "Sick Dog" (pervert) "Drunk as a skunk" (?? I don't get this one) "Hot Chick" "He's a Vulture" "You Cow/Pig/" "Check out that bird with the melons..." (uhhh,,,,that's......a girl...shopping for fruit..yeeeaaah.)
"Bear Naked" (?)......[Do I get extra credit for this one? lol]

Bear naked never makes any sense. Bears have fur. If they were only skin I would get that.
Drunk as a skunk no idea only it rhymes. Drinks like a fish I can understand.

A follow up Thunderbird decided not to do the aforementioned job after all because this person was going to be too much trouble.
Its not as if the Turkey didn't know the cost and involved process of performing the task. And some things depend on weather and getting a job done by a certain day may depend on whether or not you have the right temperatures and rain is cooperative.
You can't plan for those things.

How about a pig for someone who is messy but also for a guy who is flirtatious
Someone with a lot of energy is called a jackrabbit. Someone who is wild is called a tiger
Its never a compliment to be called a rat. ;D
