So, looks like they decided to do it anyway. Despite the objections of millions of taxpaying citizens, the thought processes in their own heads, the negative and socialistic rammifications this bill imposes on our country, Congress went ahead this evening with their grand plan of shoving ObamaCare down the collective throat of America. It has now become the will of Obama, and not the will of the people. That's tyranny, folks. Tyranny. There can be no other word to describe it.
Imagine a world under socialized medicine. Your grandparents, and in a few years, your parents, will be getting on in age. Under socialized medicine, the Government is responsible for determining who gets care and who does not. Senior citizens and retired persons are a liability in a Government run system; they eat up all the profits the Government can be giving out for young people and children, and since they are retired and no longer paying taxes, it will not be worth it to the Government to keep them alive. Their medicine, their cancer treatments, x-rays, and anything else they need will be taken away from them and given to those the Government deems worthy of receiving them. So, it looks like Grandma and Grandpa, as well as mom and dad, better start eating healthy and exercising as often as they can, because if they get sick the Government will not be there to help them. Welcome to Healthcare Rationing America, congratulations. Want to know about what rationing is like? Ask someone diagnosed with cancer who lived in Canada. Now ask them why they won't be coming to the United States for treatment anymore.
Think of what the new system will do to our doctors. Over 40% of them have pledged to quit their profession if this bill passed. Now that it has, and if the majority of them follow through on that pledge, America just lost well over a QUARTER of its practicing physicians. Does anybody see this as a potential problem? Um, yeah? That's a huge number of people quitting their jobs rather than work under socialism. Doctors under socialized medicine are forced to make their decisions based on what some D.C. bureaucrat says they should do. "Test that patient for cancer, sure, but just test them one time and in one place to save money." The doctor will have no say or choice in the matter, and will only perform the one test. Doctors perform multiple tests on patients because they need to make sure they do not miss a damn thing. What happens to a doctor who tests a patient for liver cancer, and only liver cancer, but then the patient winds up dead or dying from pancreatic cancer? That doctor is SUED practically straight out of his or her practice for wrongful death or mis-diagnosis. See the problem here? The government is opening up doctors to more and more lawsuits because they will not be allowed to perform the necessary tests to understand the nature of the disease they are dealing with. The Government run healthcare will cut their legs straight out from under them. Why even bother practicing? Because of this, and rationing, the quality of American medicine will go far, far down the tubes. Thanks Congress!
The Government does not have the right, under the United States Constitution, to force American citizens to buy health insurance under the threat of penalties for not doing so. That's tyranny! Fines of up to $1000 will be imposed on those that "refuse to comply". Tell me, does that sound like America? Home of the free? Really? Not only this, but the Government will have access to all your personal bank accounts now, under Section 163 of the bill, titled "America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009". Look me in the eye and tell me that is not Government spying and intrusion in the lives of the American citizenry.
Oh, and don't forget the fact that this so-called reform will impose hundreds of billions of dollars in new taxes for the working American. This cost of this "reform" is estimated to be 1 TRILLION dollars. Think we have that money? I certainly do not. Wonder where we're going to get it? Borrow it from China I suppose, and just increase our national debt even more. Obama clearly figures its impossible to pay it off in any way shape or form, since he continues to use the typical Chicago political style of spend, spend, spend, and pray to God that we somehow climb out of the hole. Good luck with that one, Mr. President. This country, once it eventually heals itself, will only remember you for your radical politics and as the harbringer of socialism and oppression to the people. Enjoy it.
And to all those out there who becry this bill and state that the American people deserve a "public option", what public option is actually there? The public no longer has the "option" of choosing to go without health insurance. We no longer have the FREEDOM to do so. Is it sad? Yes. Is it responsible to do so? Depends on the citizen. ObamaCare exchanges American freedom and liberty, for Government regulation and control. We have nothing to fear? The "public option" is geared towards purposefully bankrupting private insurance companies, so that the only option left for the people is the Government run option. Obama himself expressed his support for this.

It is a company formed for the purpose of being a "mail order pharmacy". The patient receives a prescription from their doctor. The insurance of the patient is sometimes contracted with Express Scripts, and the patient is then required to use their service. Express Scripts is a company filled with problems. They are often late on medication deliveries, and the orders are notoriously wrong or filled incorrectly. What happens? People get the wrong medication; people suffer as a result. Why do I know so much about this company? My own mother, who is a chronic pain patient due to a degenerative spine condition, is forced to use their services. What's the point? Express Scripts is contracted by none other than the Government. The Government regulates which private insurance companies are required to carry Express Scripts. Express Scripts is no longer a private company like it started out; it is now Government run. And what do you get? Inefficiency, foolishness, and the D.C. two step jig. Don't believe me? I shouldn't forget the abortion debate. I'm rather fiscal on the issue of abortion; I feel a woman has the right to choose, but only within due time. I would not impose on a womans control over her own body and what she decides to do with it. I will say with all certainty that I OPPOSE any kind of taxpayer funded abortion. What a woman does with her body is her choice; the cost associated with making that choice should never fall on the shoulders of the taxpayers. That's my stand on the issue. However, it should be noted that under ObamaCare, that phrase we've heard for 30 years about a woman's right to choose, is now the GOVERNMENT'S right to choose the method and payment, regardless on how you feel about it once you decide to have an abortion. Congratulations ladies, the Government has control over your bodies now! That should realistically make you feel sick to your stomach. It does to me, and I'm not even a woman.
Does America need healthcare reform? Absolutely. Is ObamaCare the right way to go? NO. It is the worst possible way to go, because the politicians on capital hill have taken the opportunity, under the guise of reforming the healthcare system, to make the biggest, most enormous power grab in the history of this country. It is truly a shame that there are Americans out there walking around without health insurance. However, the Government, under the Constitution, does NOT have the right or the authority to seize control over the entire system under the pretense of providing cheap insurance to those who cannot afford it! What we have now is a major problem; the Government runs the system now, and because of that, it controls how healthy you are and what kind of treatment you're allowed to receive. That's not America folks. It isn't the country or system of values our ancestors fought and died for against the British in the American Revolution and the War of 1812, the beaches of Normandy and Okinawa in WWII defending our freedom, or the fighting our men and women of the armed forces are currently doing in Afghanistan and Iraq protecting our national security. This healthcare reform fails them and all that they fought for.
I can only hope that this November, that when (not if, when) the majority of the incumbents of Congress are booted out of office for what they have done to our country, the new majority not only politically neuters Obama, but asks the Supreme Court to review the ObamaCare bill. If they do their jobs and look at it with their own two eyes, will recognize it for the socialism that it is and rules it unconstitutional.
I am upset. I am angry. I am MAD AS HELL! There will be severe repercussions on the members of Congress for what they did to America today. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama can all smile, pat each other on the back and pop all the bubbly they want. But they know deep down that their political careers are OVER. FOREVER. Pelosi, Reid, and the other hooligans making up Congress will get the political ax come this November. Obama will get politically neutered in the meantime, until the time comes to permanently remove him from office come 2012. And that, my friends, will be the time a REAL American President takes office, and the situation of the American people will truly begin to turn around.
