I really had to crash extra for the last few days have been rather tough. For some reason like the possiblilty of more snow a number of area schools are off tomorrow. So right now as I'm lurking lewasite Jason asks if I'll take him and 2 of his frineds a few miles away where there's lots of good hills for sledding. I think about it for a few minutes. I walk over to get a drink and I see out the window there's 3 sleds in the bed of my truck.
I guess he figures I'll do it.
Why the heck not? I might be back on before I go to work tonight dinner around 730 usually we will have to be home by then. I don't know if I'll log on again or not but that's what's happening here today.
Have I been played by my own kid though?

No Phil. You didn't get played. You are just being a great dad. Childhood only knocks once. For some kids it never knocks. You are enjoying your kids. Thats all. ;D Have fun!

Obviously you've gotten easy Phil. You're getting easy in your old age. All these guys had to do is toss some sleds in the back of your truck and say "Dad take us to the hills," and away they go.
Weather depending things have to be done when you have appropriate weather. So you did the right thing take them sledding.

I know it. I'm surprised they just didn't order ahead and then say 'can we go to pizza hut?'
I'm getting soft. I might have to go through the retrianer and come out the Sgt Enforcer you have all expected me to be for so many years.
Some poeple from both forums have said I'm much mellower here than I was at the original farts.com forum.
I know that is true but the people I was rough with either bothered the Blast sisters, Anonymous Lady, Demona and our other ladies of the forum. In some cases they just came on and shot off at members with no discussion intention at all.
And that's when I would come on as Sgt Enforcer. A famous sample was Squeaky Bear bothering Blastgirl and Classic about ideals.
Another time Photo412 got on Maggottfarm808's case for posting a guitar recording in the wrong part of the forum.
He said something like 'so Phil a overnight railroad worker going to pull rank.
I actually did a blog about it. But Maggottfarm808 is a good kid and didn't need to be browbeat or insulted that way.

I'm teasing you Phil I think you're just a good father.
Speaking of that, my little son turns 3 tomorrow. Actually it is the 11th so they're 5 and 3 now. I can't believe it.

Phil I think it's good that you let the Kids have some fun at the sacrifice of some much needed sleep.

They did have fun. And they were off from school yesterday. Because they predicted a lot of snow.
But like you said weather depending events have to be done when you have the right weather.

Snow days are nice. You did right to take them sledding. It was probably a long night for you still having to go to work after that but you must be a pretty good dad, Phil.
I like the skateboard story can you spot me 300? Just teasing.

No Phil you were just being the cool dad. There's a lot of doubt to me that the kids or anybody else just gets you to take them somewhere by putting sleds in your truck and saying they want to go sledding.
I think if you couldnt bring them you would say "I cant take you right now we have this or that to do and you better put the sleds back."
Youre by no means a pushover.

Lol Thanks Kimm.
I hate to be a total heavy but I'd hate to believe I've gotten too easy either.

Phil: If I was you I stand up in front of Jason and say, "BOY!!!!.........You know the keys are in the ignition!!!"
And, then I'd go to sleep.
After all, he does hold a respectable position on a highly regarded, sea-worthy vessel....

Easier? No.
I'll tell you he is a tougher dad than our dad absolutely. I will say this though. There's no expectations that Phil would not be willing to meet. Jason and friends must have had important things done on schedule for that to sledding trip to happen.
I remember being about 10 and Phil being 19 or 20 saying to me, "You have to learn these things because there's going to come a time when I don't live here and you're going to have to take over."
As a 10 year old I would roll my eyes and protest about that but he was right.

That's not such a bad thing. You will always be able to do things. I think its important to learn things at early ages.
