Tylenol Recall - Chicago TribuneJohnson & Johnson is expanding a voluntary recall of Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplets due to consumer reports of a moldy smell that can cause nausea and sickness.
....uhm. That ain't "mold" you're smelling. I know these pallets that they're talking about and, believe me, it's not Johnson and Johnson's fault. I've picked up and delivered these "treated" pallets before and, as a strict company policy, you drop off the empty trailer in the yard (away from any buildings) and leave the doors open for a week! Thing is, they threat pallets (skids) with either fire (kiln) or a chemical treatment if the pallets are going to go overseas (a la J&J) so that it's ensured those pallets don't contain wood boring insects or germs that could be introduced into a foreign country. If they're chemically treated.......wwoooooo!!!! You can place a scrap of one skid in a warehouse that is 110,000 square foot or more and, within an hour, the whole place smells like it. I would compare the smell more to..... acetone fingernail polish remover mixed with paint thinner.... that someone peed in. The smell can overpower a Men's room right after someone had just dropped a duke! And, of course, you can usually identify these smelly pallets by the 'virginal white' appearance. [Pallets marked with "HTTP ###" mean "Heat Treated...something 'T'...Pallet (company number)". No chemicals.]

I think the Tylenol company will never take panic too lightly after what they went through twice.
