I think this b*tch should be fired. Who cares if the kid was playing with her hair? According to the article an apology was enough. Also, they're saying stress was to blame. That's no excuse. It'd be funny if the girl's mom held the teacher down and let her daughter shave her head, she deserves it.

I can't believe this teacher is going to get away with an apology. That's so far beyond a teacher's right to use discipline. Cutting somebody's hair!
I do remember in high school a kid kept sucking his pen, chewing it is probably more like it. Obviously some people do that. Even as adults you see pens all the time with chew marks on them.
A teacher made this kid chew a pacifier for the rest of the class. I think he teacher had done that before but this time it got before the school board. It was made very clear that this is not within school policy and the teacher did apologize.
In that case it was probably enough. He did not change the kid's physical appearance like cutting hair would.
If I was a parent of that little girl I'd be all over that teacher.

That's for sure out of control from the teacher. That a 7 year old playing with her hair gets you so out of control that you cut the hair! Really?
I'd for sure have something to say to that teacher. If a 7 year old playing with her hair is a crisis what does this teacher do if there's an unscheduled fire drill? Or worse?

Pacifier, I would do (especially if the parents were flaming hippies and didn't discipline the kids) but, hair cutting?..... I have a personal experience with that! And, it cost me $42! (by the way, now that I know better, I should go and collect) *** 1988. Muskegon, Michigan. There I was. an 11 year old boy given the task of baby sitting an 8 year old, 6 year old and a 3 year old - all girls. The eldest girl had her friend over: an 8 year old, hip length haired girl. The girls said that they were going to go into the eldests' bedroom to change shirts. Next thing I know, the neighbor girl comes out of the bedroom sporting a shoulder-length bob. I freaked - as any 11 year old would - and sent the neighbor girl home. (what I'm I supposed to do? Watch 8 year old "developing" girls change clothes?) The neighbor girls' mom comes over to the house I was sitting and threatens ME [an 11 year old] with physical harm. The girl's mother comes home and I confess everything [while pissed]. There is an "adult conference" with the respective parents. Turns out - - - - I just spent an entire Saturday, babysitting for free!!!!  At 11, I accepted it as a matter of life. Now...... I need to go visit someone - and get my $42! Thanks for reminding me about this childhood exploitation, Demona. I'll be back in a few hours. |

This is a sign of a teacher who has serious problems. When you can't control yourself any better than that. If a kid has trouble learning to tie shoes do you make him walk without shoes? Is that going to work? I doubt it.
And this gir was 7 only 7 years old. being distracted is not unusual anyway. That teacher is inept.

Yeauup!! Turns out that old house was foreclosed on and was torn down about 10 years ago.
Contacted the Developer and put a lien on the property.......for 42 bucks.*
We'll see who's laughing in the end!!!
Muah ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
...course, it cost me $650 put add the lien....
