I have so dreamed of something like this during my baseball career. To have some loudmouth jerk get their due while you're there to have it happen. hahaha. That happened for Steve Sullivan in this hockey game.

That was great. I never saw a hockey player taunt a fan before. Football players do it once in a while but hockey! lol

I have told some of the things I have had said or done to me.
Like Phil said its easier for fans and players to banter in football or baseball, Basketball too for that matter. Hockey there's glass between and a barrier that way. I've had beer thrown at me, been heckled lots of times. Sometimes even threatened when playing against the home team's fans.

I have seen a lot of cases where fans were abusive. They ruin the fun of a Sport. Going to game is meant to be a fun event and you cheer for your favorite team. Harassment is not just all in a day's work for the Players.

That guy seems awful proud getting himself on the jumbotron doing that.
That's more harmless than stuff thrown at you.

Fans sometimes don't like a player only because he scored against their favorite team that's no good.
Is it ok if I ask what experiences like that you may have had? If its too personal and you'd rather not say I understand.

I would have discussed this in more detail for the last six years if I didn't have other concerns now I don't have those concerns anymore. I've been told that I such you know what, that I shoud be shot I have had things thrown at me. I have had water or soda poured on me eggs thrown at a team bus. I will not even get started on what gets written in news papers from the world according to somebody who has never even held up a bat. hahaha. |
