Last night, Chris Christie pulled off a huge upset in beating John Corzine in the election for governor. Republicans also scored a decisive win in Virginia. This is big because take it from me, New Jersey is pretty liberal and left leaning. As a conservative, I'm not a representative of the general attitude of this particular state. We've leaned to the left for a long time. To me, this is a big victory because both New Jersey and Virginia were key states towards Comrade Obama's win last year. They were huge in carrying him and his agenda. Now, we see voters waking up and pushing back against him in two races that received his personal endorsement. Chris Christie to me isn't quite as conservative as I would like (mayor Steve Lonegan would have been perfect), but he's certainly a lot better than John Corzine, a leftist liberal that upped our property taxes and parkway tolls so much he likely bankrupted plenty of people. Not to mention he spent up to 25 million of his own money (again) in order to stay in office. But despite more Obama campaigning and Corzine's money bags, the Republicans still took a heavily liberal state. I'm calling it the first great step towards dumping the socialist Democrats in congress in 2010, and another step towards booting out Comrade Obama in 2012. Those are some indications that people are finally beginning to see that the promises Obama has made are not even possible. I said that in a few Youtube blogs a year ago as did some other people. When a heavily dominated democratic state elects a republican or the other way around for that matter, and it happens unexpectedly, that's often a sign that the higher offices of that party's leaders are not fulfilling people's wishes.
I would not say that in California too much because although Arnold Schwarzenegger is a republican, he does have more liberal views than his party representatives usually do. That helps make it possible for a liberal leaning state to choose him. That also happened at a time that incumbent Governor Gray Davis was being ousted.
Since my political views would be so different I would have not voted for Davis had I been a resident of California, I also don't think they had the right to boot him. They elected him 19 months earlier. That was their chance to kick him out by proper election. They voted him in, he didn't break the law so too bad you're stuck with him for 3 more years. Vote different next time if that didn't work out is my opinion.
I think what Jersey says has a lot of merit that promises were made and this year's election is an indication that not enough action has followed the promises.
My union gets on me all the time for being a Republican. I just can't vote for the people they endorse for very serious reasons.

In political elections you just never know. I played against a team from a rival city for years they wined about the city mayor and they elected him for his I don't know how long he has been mayor maybe since 1985 or 86 but I became aware of this guy when he was up for reelection in 2001. Well after hearing lots of complaining that he had been in power since 85 I think it was and hasn't done anything 3 terms is enough it's time for him to go.
You watch a lot of tv in hotel rooms when your'e on the road every third commercial seemed to be wanting to get this guy out. Well he got reelected. The same thing happened in 2005 enough already 20 years of this mayor. Guess what happened, he got reelected.
I had the pleasure of hearing the same ads and tv talk about him again this year. This morning I just happened to be curious so I called the news station in that city and he got in again. This time he was way behind in the polls. (I'm not sure how much you can trust that though). That guy will probably die with that job.

I think sometimes people get a little turned off when wealtheir people so obviously try to buy an election. Ross Perot was doing that a little bit when he ran, that's happened a few times and Corzine was accused of flooding the air with election ads too.
Where would you find the balance I don't know if you don't publicize yourself you wont win that way either.
I am conservative so I would be glad of this too if I lived in New Jersey but I have heard about spending on ads too.

Wow, you guys need to find a new political party.
The Democrats have moved to the center, the Republicans into an asylum.
Rush Limbaugh, who can't decide weater obama's a Nazi or a Communist.
Bill O'Rielly, Who is still amazed that black people can use cutlery.
FAUX news, need I say more?
And a final mention:
Ann Coulter, who asked a deaf person if she was "paying attention" to her. (Who the fvck would?)
You business folk need a new party, and fast.

Poison.... you need to start paying attention to what's going on - instead of just going into arguments like a rabid bull dog. Listen to Rush, Hannity, Coulter and Fox in context; instead of just cherry picked clips played on Left wing programs. You can listen to Rush from Noon to 3, Hannity from 3-6pm, (EST) over the interwebs on www.woodradio.com, M-F. Listen with OUT the liberal "commentary" over it (Wanda Sykes wishing Rush to have a heart attack?!). You may learn something. Also, look into Heritage.org for real breaking news about what is going on. Calling Rush, Hannity, Coulter, etc "idiots" is like calling Albert Einstein an "idiot" without actually listening to what he had to say. Democrats haven't move to the center. They've moved to Moscow..... And, us "business folk" would like to keep our businesses, thank you!

PoIsOnDaRt, if anything the Republicans are moving toward the center and the Democrats are moving farther left than we ever could have forseen.
The Republican party is strangely similar to how the Democratic party was defined from about 1920 to about 1970.
The Democratic party now in America now is how you would expect 1960s rebels to see Social standpoints from an aged set of eyes. Supporting things Society never could have and being angry whenever disagreed with.

The thing that gets me is that Democrats accuse Republicans and Conservatives of being racist, bible thumping, gun totters when it was the Republicans that demanded the end of slavery, demanded the Civil Rights act and demanded personal protection. "Personal Protection" doesn't just mean against other humans. hag

I dont' like either party playing the race card. They all use it to push an ajenda too. If you don't support the non caucasian or the woman than you're you're either prejudice or chauvinistic. Maybe you just don't feel the same way.

Both Sides are as bad as each other.
And my point on Rush and Billy boy stand. They make FOX news and all other forms of journalism a joke.
And Yes, The democrats have moved to the center. Unless liberal means "spineless idiot Who tries to keep everybody happy no matter what" then they are centerist.
Republicans: No More Taxes! Democrats: Universal Healthcare! Obama: Leave me alone, I'll do whatever you want!
Yes, I do see all the good they have done before.
Then they tried to made Iran their 51st state.
You all need to get your act together, and get rid of the crazies on both sides of the fence.

I was with you right up to making Iran the 51st state.
Liberal in American political terminology does mean no spine.
I'll admit the Republicans aren't great either but they do at least mostly have some traditional values that laws and ethics were originally set for standdards.
Don't get me wrong I have no great love for the Republicans either but I really dislike the liberal attitude.
Its like ever 4 years we have a elections. Sometimes you say with all the people we have in this state, county or even country and we're down to these 2 for office?
I say that a lot. Lynn Swan was a great football player and he ran against our governor Ed Rendell I didn't think either was a great choice for the Governor office but with Pennsylvania's 12, or 13 million population that's all we had to run for Governor was those 2.
It happens all the time.

Wait? Swan? Oh, I get it! When the options are crap, choose the smaller crap.

The Republicans aren't wonderful either. But the only Democrat I have voted for lately is Bob Casey Jr. If it wasn't for the fact that he's 2 generations of family in government I doubt the Democratic party would support him. He doesn't share the current stance the Democrats take on most things these days. But they know he is electable so they tolerate it so he's a friend instead of an opponent.

Animatronic?!
Have you seen that shark?!!
.....it's the story behind the fact. Sharks don't equal people. Anti-gun people think guns are only against people. Sharks attack people.
As do bears. As do Liberals (politically as often as physically). As do Alligators. As do Rhinos. As do Space Alien Bats!!!
