As of 9:13AM 10/5/2009 I, Douglas Mahn, Plaintiff, am officially divorced!
Woo Hoo!!
This divorce stuff isn't all that difficult - once you've gone through it. Going the In pro per route is definitely the way to do it.
Perhaps I can use my new found knowledge to be a type of 'Divorce Councilor' cuz, it's kind of a waste to have all this knowledge and never use it again....

Be happy it's over with, and I hope she ends up far away.

Closure is a good thing. Its a shame it had to come to that but it's good to have it over and be ready for a new chapter in your life. From the looks of things the process was less painful than it usually is. I'm sure it's not without it's issues though.
But this is a new chapter.

Obviously a divorce is not intended to be a happy time but the end of a miserable happening always is.

I hope this "closure" in this part of your life brings you peace.

Thanks, everyone.
Yes, typically a divorce is sad and messy but, in my situation, it would be like asking if I were sad about melting the Wicked Witch of the West (and quite literally, since she hails from Vegas - though, that's East to Beangirl).
Since I told Lori to go away my bank account has septupled'd and I'm a happier person, over all.
It came to a point during our "holy matrimony" that I pulled into the driveway every night. Turned off the ignition. Cried some. And wondered what we'd fight about that night...
Usually, the fight would start as the door clicked closed behind me (something/one screwed her over on the internet/phone/life and I should be very angry - though she was "very" obviously at fault).
That door closing behind me every night went from "click" to "CCCLLAANNNGGG!!!" [as in; a jail cell door closing].
During the hearing the judge asked my why I hadn't seen Lori in the last year and a half. I told him, "I'm not going over there." (her last known address) in a temperment that he understood but, found funny enough to giggle at.
Now, the aftermath will include:
-Getting Lori off my health insurance. -Getting Lori off my 401k beneficiary list. -Getting Lori off my vehicle insurance policy. -Getting Lori off my W2 (though, I have to wait until 2010 because we were married over 6 months of 09). -Getting Lori off my Social Security beneciary list (even though I'll dissolve SS after 12, anyway). -Getting Lori off my Christmas Card list.....
Man, still more work!
At least I got all of this done before she unleashed the hell spawn that she carries from a foreign seed! (she's pregnant by a loser mooch).
She defaulted on the original Complaint for Divorce, Writ of Separate Maintanence (living on separate incomes for more than 180 days) and my Writ of Sole Occupancy (on my house which pre-dates the marriage) so, she gets nothing. I get everything! (as per GRP 4a - Judgment in proof of dissolution of marriage).
I've learned a lot. I hate to waste it, now.
Anyone need a divorce?

Thankfully no. But I'm glad yours didn't go as terrible as it usually does.

Mahnarch? Does your state have community property laws like Cali does? I don't know much about other state divorce laws. Whoa! Watching The Wicked Witch melt was the best part of the movie.

Beanie: Michigan is a "community property" state but, since I have 'writ of sole occupancy' and we've been living 'separate maintaince' for so long - plus, she defaulted on the original 'Complaint for Divorce (GRP 3)' , she can't get/ask for anything.
What we had separately before, we leave with, separately. (except for the fact that she added $45,000 in Credit Card debt to me - which I took on in her stead so she couldn't come after me for anything).
I'm taking donations, by the way..... :/
