RIP, Pat. Patrick was one of my 80s heros. Roadhouse. Ghost. Point Break. Dirty Dancing. Red Dawn. To Wong Foo.... It seems that our childhood heroes will live forever..

Good movies but don't forget the Outsiders. He was Darryl "Darry" Curtis.

Don't think I ever saw Outsiders.
I'll look it up. I probably saw it but, don't remember.

It's really too bad about that. He wasn't really old either.

No he wasn't old but I actually thought he was younger than he was. I remember the movie Classic is mentioned because that was also a book and it was a tremendous story. The outsiders is worth rending if you have never seen it rent it. At that time Patrick Swayze Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio *sp Emilio Estivez, C. Thomas Howell and Diane Lane were all up and coming stars.
Some of them had done other acting but that movie was the 1st big hit for most of them. That's what made me think Swayze was younger though because those other guys were supposed to be teenagers and Darry was supposed to be 20. I know that most youth actors are older than the part they are playing usually. But that means Swayze was probably over 30 at that time. But he was convincing to be age appropriate.
