I've had two dogs in my life. The first I named Ranger I was playing pee week baseball for the Rangers. And Ranger is a cool enough name for a dog also some of the Ford trucks my father had at work were Rangers so that seemed to be the name. He was a beagle. I've mentioned him before I had him for 13 years.
The new dog I bought my son, although Blastgirl loves him too, we call Pirate. He is remarkably similar to Ranger.

I finally came up with a name. Loki, god of mischief and shape-shifting of Norse mythology. Worshipped by the Pagan Germanic tribes and later the Vikings. My mother likes the name. Loki it is.  |

I was going to suggest a name for hime: Heraclese [Hair-a-kleeze].
It's Roman/Greek and, since he seems to be fearless (jumping down from a height) it seems proper.
Loki seems fitting only if he consistantly pulls pranks and/or follies.
