College football season is upon us once again. A lot of things happened in the past few days. This guy: won't be winning another Heisman. This guy: saved me from having an aneurysm. This guy: is considering a boxing career. This guy: picks Notre Dame to be in the Nathional Championthip. My thoughts on Ohio State: there were some good and bad things that came from the Navy game. A win is the best thing that came of it. However, it was not the win I was expecting. Navy NEVER gave up and I have the utmost respect for them. I see them making it to another bowl this year. The offensive line played very sloppily against a much smaller line, and I really wish Jim Tressel would get rid of Jim Bollman as the offensive line coach. The Buckeyes have had top quality players in the skill positions for years now, but the line can never seem to develop. Hopefully they can get fired u for Saturday, or they're in for a lot of trouble. Pryor looked fairly good. He pulled some plays out of nowhere and made some good completions, but he still showed some issues with passing (timing, power, etc.). I saw more good than bad from him though. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he has progressed from his freshman year. Saturday is going to be a very interesting day. USC looked good against an obviously inferior San Diego State team. Barkley, a true freshman at QB, will have his second career start in the Shoe. The atmosphere that will surround the Trojans Saturday night will be like nothing they have ever seen before. 105,000+ screaming fans make a lot of noise in the house that Harley built. If Ohio State can step up on both sides of the ball, I think that they can go toe to toe with a very tough Southern Cal team and pull out the win. So let's open up the floor for some debate. Who's your team? Who are they playing? Maybe you have some random thought?

USC beat San Jose State, no surprise. Matt Barkley did well considering he is the first true freshman to start for SC in a while. Next week they play the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe, hopefully they can repeat the same performance of last year.
Other than that really, Lou Holtz is still insane, Oklahoma won't get to the BCS and Sam Bradford isn't going to repeat the Heisman unless Tim Tebow and Jahvid Best both die.

Ohio State is my team, and I agree with just about everything Kevin said. Offense on Saturday was definitely sputtering a bit, but if they can fire on all cylinders this coming weekend we might have something very exciting to watch.
The whole LeGarrette Blount (or whateverthehell his name is) incident pissed me off when the news first broke. I've played this game for eight long years, and I understand the score on what the way you're supposed to behave, ESPECIALLY when someone from an opposing team is getting in your face and being a smartass. They may deserve a beatdown, but doing something about it will cost you big time, such is the case with Blount. Suspension well deserved.
USC is as dangerous as ever. Every season they are a stacked team, and every season they take the opportunity to trounce the living hell out of the inferior opponents they pay big bucks to take some serious lumps. (Something I will never agree with.) But, just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, I'll say the same thing. USC is over rated. Big time. The PAC-10 powerhouse schools always seem to play an easy schedule. Case in point: USC.
Washington, Washington State. Those are two gimme games meant to boost USC's record. And since the PAC-10 is inherently weak with schools like Arizona State, Stanford, Arozona, it once again sets up USC for yet another high ranking and trip through the BCS polls. I've never agreed with the BCS because schools like Ohio State with a coach like Tressel get the short end of the stick every year. Why? Because Tressel refuses to beat the living tar out of other opposing teams, unlike USC. I think OSU could have beaten Navy by a much wider margin, but Tressel has far too much class to run up the score on someone.
Class is what I like. And class is what Ohio State has on their side. We'll see what happens.

I wouldn't be so doubtful of Washington this year. They may have gone 0-12 last year, but that was without Jake Locker at QB. They gave LSU a handful Saturday night. USC is bound to choke against a Pac 10 team as usual.
Jersey, although Tressel does play with class, I think there are times when he needs to keep the foot on the pedal. Put the Bucks up by a good margin (3+ scores), then let off. I like that he opened up the playbook a little (passing to RBs in the flats and TEs WAIT WHAT), but there are still times when he is a little too conservative on offense. I'm really hoping that the pistol or wildcat formation is in the works for Saturday, and I'm also expecting to see Bauserman in at QB with Pryor playing a wideout (a la Texas last year).
I'm not too sure about USC being overrated. Despite playing in a top heavy conference, USC basically has the pick of the litter of the entire west coast and surrounding states. While other tradtional powerhouses such as Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Alabama have to compete with other nearby schools for recruits, USC can pick and choose from a wide range of states because there aren't as many big name programs west of Austin, TX. Pete Carroll's USC squads have carried a swagger and confidence unlike any other school around, and the number of Trojans drafted in recent years is astounding.
Last night's game between Miami and Florida State was insane. A back and forth battle capped with a goal line stand at the end made for a great game. It's a shame the ACC is so weak this year (losing to two FCS teams... really?).
I'm REALLY pulling for BYU to run the table this year. Even with Bradford in the game, BYU was toe to toe with Oklahoma. Max Hall is a great QB, and I think if the Cougars go undefeated they would make a great case for a national championship berth.

I'm pretty angry at OSU right now. I'll post some thoughts on this weekend later today.
At least I was really drunk last night. That helped.

OSU relied far too much on Pryor to make something great happen. Jim Tressel's hugely conservative style had a big contribution to losing this game...not trying to stick it to USC in on the goal line on fourth down. Having Pryor throw weak, half-hearted passes the entire second half and almost entirely abandoning the run game.
The OSU offense has a lot to account for with the second half. I have very few complaints about our defense. I felt they played an excellent game and really came after USC and got into their grill for 90% of the time. Their only problems came when Pete Carrol went after it on fourth down the majority of the game. That coach has more balls than brains when it comes to fourth down situation, and the problem for other teams is it always seems to work for him.
Poor coaching had a lot to do with last night. Pryor remains unproven.

It was dumb of them not to run it out Norte Dame could have run out the clock but they let Michigan get the ball back.

Michigan got beat by an awful MSU team.
As much as I hated to do it I was rooting for Michigan to go undefeated until we played them so it would look better when we kick the snot out of them.

I understand. The rivalry is better when both Teams are doing well. When the rivalry is only by tradition and that happens to be a year when the one team is a Second rank and the opponent is forty-third, the rivalry just isn't the same.

its madning when your teams dont get the job done. we just watched the bufalo bills lose again and another bone head kick return fumbled
they say there going to fire dick jouran but he is not the guy who fumbled the ball my dad thinks that the players might respond better to a new coach that theyre done playing for him even if he might not be a bad coach though i still dont know
