It's 4.00am here as I write this to you. I recieved my leaving cert results this morning and it is the custom to go out on the town to celebrate. I did amazingly so I was having a great time. I have today off so I can sleep in and deal with any hang overs too...happy days.
that was until I was heading home (no more than 20 minutes ago). I arranged a taxi (or a cab) with three of my friends to split the costs. Picture the scene: it's one of thoses country roads, with no street lighting and blind corners. pitch black when all of a sudden a big black shape ahead of us in the direct center of the road forces the driver to jam on the brakes. we had to swerve quite violently to avoid this mass of black. our brakes leave us stopped right beside the object as we moved into the hard shoulder. then somebody turned on the light on their phone...
it was a car.
it had been crushed beyond recognition and lay strewn across the road in a parade of shrapnel. THrough the windscreen you could just about make out two seats, empty thank god...i didn't want to be dreaming of fresh mutilated corpses tonight. The car had obviously been in a massive collision but what puzzled me was how there were no people, no other car and no police or ambulance...It's not possible for somebody to simply get out and walk away from this mess.
If there is a news report about it, ill post it up tommorow.

Wow, Aido179. I'm glad you and your Friends weren't hurt. I'm sure that would sober you up really fast. Somebody put a junk car in the street as a prank?
Are you sure that it was the wreckage of an accident that happened there? Could it have fallen off a Flatbed or anything?

heya guys. Yeah im fairly sure it was from an accident. no news yet but what everyone seems to think is it was somebody driving drunk and ran when they crashed instead of facing the police. The fact that they coiuld get out an run is nothing less than a miracle.

It's amazing how often drunks don't feel it right then and there.
I've often been sent to the tracks when someone left a junk car on the tracks to see what happens when a train hits it. Sometimes it's set on fire on the tracks. Even better.
I'm glad you didn't get hurt aido179 that's the most important thing.

doesnt look like there were any casualties, there was no headlines or anything...thats one lucky driver. kimm: I totally agree...i didn't want to say it, but I was hesitant about looking into the wreck incase I saw something I really regretted seeing...

I wonder if they can recover the car in cash for clunkers.
Obviously that would be startling to just have a car in the middle of the street in the wee hours when you're not expecting it.
I'm glad there seems to be no casualties.
