i think the police came to his house is why he was not cooperatave
but the police were called because of a disturbance and he refused to even show id. he only said that he lived there and that there was not a problem
i dont think that the polce can just believe that without even talking to him to make him convince them there was no problem of if there is he did not cause it

I think the whole thing is retarded. Seriously. Especially the hate mail and threats on the lady making the call because of something suspicious. She didn't know better.
As for the professor freaking out and saying it was profiling, I don't know details on that part. If the cops were rude in the way they confronted him, then he had a right to be mad, but proving he lived in the house would have solved everything. If they arrested him just because he got lippy I don't think that's right at all.
The president sticking his nose in is way not necessary and is adding to it I think. Yes it's his friend, but come on, for somebody in his position there are far worse things to worry about.

Most of his problems would have been avoided by showing identification and being less flip with the Police. They would have had no choice but to leave him alone.

I think the reason Obama is making a huge issue about this is because it involves a black professor. He's making it sound like it's a race issue. For example, a race issue would be if police see a black man driving a fancy sports car, they immediately pull him over because it's a black man driving a nice car. But if a white man is driving a fancy sports car, the police don't think anything about it.
But while this does involve a black professor, and Obama is making this sound like a race issue, in all honesty, it's not. The professor refused to cooperate and was acting belligerant, so the cops had the right to arrest him. They did not arrest him because he was black.

That's exactly right it's the fact that the Professor did not conform not because of race or any other reason.

Beleive me it's not about race my good friend was a former gangmember and is now a cop he said he go after anybody black, white or brown.

Antonio is right there's way too much of that. The one thing I'm not going to miss is the drama sometimes encouraged by minority races and agents of minority races.
Please friends of this board. I have some wonderful friendships I have been able to make with Afro-American teammates, Latino teammates and some Asian teammates. Over 16 years there's hundreds of people that crossed my path of different races.
There were times when players and agents accused teams of being racial if they chose a white player over a black or Latino. It's a little stupid though because there's enough of all races on everyteam why would they single out that one guy? Attitude is a consideration, age is one too, that means goodbye classic,
But the guy refusing to conform with the police is not only a suspect, but a hostile suspect.

Well this case wasnt racial I seen racial cops but this case it wasnt racial, some cops are poop chutes I met black and white cops who were poop chutes and some who were cool. I know a couple of guys who are cops and were former gangmemebers. I have a friend who is bouncer at a club and he has tossed out every race of guys he dont show any special treatment to dunken idiots.

There's too many people that think they have a right to things because of former oppression.

I don't want to quote everybody else but I think it's pretty simple in this story. The Police had no way of knowing for sure if the Professor was someone who belonged or not. The Professor refused to cooperate and acted belligerent. The Police did what they had to do.

Celebrities, high profile athletes, some police officers and most politicians figure they have enough connections that they're above the law.

Cops are not Gods - even though they have the same amount of letters and those letters look an awful lot the same.
Policemen are men/women just as we both are. They clock in. Work. Go home to an annoying wife/husband and loud kids. They take craps and urinate, just as you do. They stub their toes on chair legs and mumble curse words.
They clean up dog crap from their back yards - just as you do.
Why would you allow him to search your personal belongings? (so he can joke and laugh about you and your friends in the conf. room later?)
