Wow, seriously! Nothing will happen. Besides, that year marks some other kind of event to the Mayans. I read about it and forgot exactly what, but the world won't end. Nobody can predict that.

No there's a lot of people out there trying to make everything into a doomsday. You can draw any conclusion if you want.
There's people who would say, 'Nostradamus predicted that in 2009 a guy called Filo will post play movies on grass'
Then some panic seekers would say 'Ah ha!' Filo is really Phil O and movies on grass is really YouTube videos posted on Lewasite's green background.

Really Phil? Nostradamus predicted that? What a visionary he was.

He was a great visionary.
He predicted that a 1 gloved man from left field would unite east and west of the 2nd boundary within the 1st decade of the 12 th century.
I got it!!!!!!
Nostradamus said the 12th century. Well what he really meant was the 21st century. The 1st decade. We are still there.
A man from leftfield. That's a term for an unexpected person but maybe that pertains to Classic being a baseball player. A little code there. And he is not from out state there's the connection.
The 2nd boundary, Pennsylvania is the 2nd state of the union. Pittsburgh is the western side, Philadelphia is the east side and Classic has a avatar of a penguin to represent Pittsburgh and a Phillies uniform to represent Philadelphia. There's the union.
Classic you have saved the world and Nostradamus knew it all along.

No! Who got Phil started on Nostradamus? Now the soapbox is going to be here for a while.
Phil gets so annoyed when events are tied back to Nostradamus. I find some of the discoveries interesting I agree that a lot of times the reality of the predictions are far fetched.

He has a point though about the interpretations and how they can be turned into something to fit the prediction.

I was just listening to a radio broadcast that was talking about that.
Such a depressing thought. I'd rather not even think about that even if I believed it was really a strong possibility.

The world could end if Obama is re-elected in 2012

I agree but if doomsday was for real he's the least of our worries.

I agree but if doomsday was for real he's the least of our worries. I'm not thinking the world is going to be over in 2 years so I'm planning on drinking lots more than 2 years worth of beer. My nephew's birthday is today I hope I can have some certainty that he will have a full life. I am pretty certain of this. Little John, happy 3rd birthday and many decades to come.

the mayans never predicted an end of the world, but a new beginning of the world.
Either way, I'll be on the roof that day. I mean, the most amazing eclipse will be occurring. The earth will be at such a perfect angle to be able to see the center of our galaxy.
Personally, I think that is awesome.

Is this one of those major eclipses that only happen about every 40 years that you can see things that might not be visible again for another 40 years or so?
Obviously I don't remember it but there was one when I was about 4. I should say I do remember it but I was too young to understand it.
