Just wanted to know what you guys think of this whole Doomsday craze.
I've read articles showing how this event is impossible, and it all makes sense. What do you all say?

I don't believe it at all. They've been predicting the end of the world sicne it started. If I believed that the end was near I would quit work and quit paying bills buy whatever I could on credit and pay only enough to keep from repossession.
But since I don't believe it I'm not about to ruin my credit or my inegrity.
I was in 5th grade somebody predicted the end of the world on a specific date. It was supposed to be at 10pm I remember it didn't end. 11pm rolled around and my mother said 'Well Philip, since the world didn't come to an end, you might as well do to bed and be ready for school in the morning.'
I was not really worried about it even then buy I remember at that time spring 1982 I had a 1 1/2 year old brother and a baby sister I was concerned that they would get a chance to do some living. Happy to say that they have now.
Nostradamus has been credited for virtually everything that has happened too. The twin towers. 'the year 1 in the new city the giant brothers will fall to their knees.' ?? That's vague for sure.
How about the trio of family world leaders. Its gotta be John Kennedy was killed, Bob Kennedy was killed Ted's next. Well that 3rd is still alive. But wait, what about the Gandhis. Ah ha that's it the Gandhis were the family thanks to a 1991 killing of Rajiv Gandhi.

I think the World runs its course and there's not much we can do to prevent it or slow it down if we're doomed that's the end.
I dont' think it's only three years off though. But even if it was there's nothing that we can really do to prevent it.

We're all doomed its every man for himself and you might as well raid and loot.
I dont think the world is going to end anytime soon.

I don't know how anybody can be so sure that the world has 3 years to go or to be specific about any date.

I think some people were kind of disappointed that the World didn't come to an end those times.

I think it's bull. You can't predict when the world will end, and in all honesty I don't think it will end any time soon. I think this thing about the world ending in 2012 is something inspired by those trashy magazines at grocery store check-outs with headlines screaming, "Elvis Presley is Alive! He was spotting in the Alaskian wilderness ice-fishing!" and everything else stupid you could think of.

Exactly, nobody can project an end to the world. Its something crap they start to get everybody up in arms like the Y2K. Like the world's technology was going to stop on 1/1/00. Ok.

Fire and brimstone threats to humanity but polar ice caps melting and ultimate doomsday.
If ultimate doomsday is on the horizon does anything else really matter? Like economic recessions, even terminal illness if the everybody's live will be over in 3 years what are any of us really missing out on?
Or course I don't believe most of the things we're told and even if they are true do we have any control of it really?

That's just it. Read through my sarcasm and I'll say that we all just have to live our lives and hope that judgment day is not really upon us.

Run to the hills, run for your life.
I just wanted to say that so thanks Vix for this poll. I believe what most of you believe. We're not going down in 3 short years and even if we were we can't prevent it.
I have no plans to spend my life savings to enjoy my final days. I don't think they're really approaching.

There's no reason to worry about that Jason. My sons are not as old as you but they're in the same age group as your brother and sister. They are 5 and 2. There's nothing you can do anyway if doomsday is really on the doorstep you can't prevent it. If you believe in Hereafter then hopefully you've lived to God's expectations.
If you don't then there's no hope at all if that doomsday is really coming.
Happily like you said it's not as if the end of the world has not been prophesied before. So far they're 0 for all on such a prophecy. I'd concentrate on a future because I would bet will all the confidence there is that there is going to be a future.
