The Marriot doesn't have as near the conveniences! Find me a Marriot room where you can lay in bed and reach the TV, VCR and fridge without lifting your head!! The vein popping out of my arm is real. (I did do some push-ups before filming... nothing more.) You've seen me. I'm pretty built.

I done broke our new truck, already....
If you didn't know, the fifth wheel on a semi (as well as the tandem wheels on the trialer) can slide back and forth so we can distribute the weight; to satisfy the nerds at the weigh stations.
Well, the fifth wheel disengaged (to move it back and forth) and wouldn't re-engage.
So, every time I dropped and hooked a trailer it slid back and forth a good 3ft.
I blew through an intersection yesterday - luckily, no one was in the intersection.
I was loaded to gross max (maximum weight I can carry - 44,000lbs) and the trailer had slid back as far as it could as I left the dock and closed the doors.
In the meantime the service line (the air line that applies[/i][/u] the brakes fell from it's connector due to the stretch.
I came up to the intersect. Hit my brakes.
Nothing.
I stomped on the brakes.
Nothing.
I turned on the Engine brake and the trailer slammed forward, pushing me faster - right through the intersection.
I eventually got it to a stop after a half mile and looked out my back window. There, I saw the blue air line dangling off the frame.
Let this be a lesson to you: If you ever see a semi with the blue (BLUE) line dangling..... DO NOT cut him off on the highway and hit your brakes!!

Oh Dear! I hope you are ok and there's not much damage to the Truck.

With the force that the trailer hit the front of the fifth wheel slide, I'm surprised the King Pin did shear off.
Of course, my newly opened Mountain Dew ended up all over the floor - as did everything else in the overhead compartments.
Talk about a "WTF?!!" moment before you realize that you WEREN'T rear ended by a freight train.

This solution should not only prevent global warming, it should also cure a world wide overweight problem.
Mahnarch your most creative idea just might put the brakes on global warming once and for all.

HA! You beat to posting the vid, Phil!!
Good job!
Yeah. I saw that it was snowing (part of my symbolism) so I ran outside to video. I didn't realize we were going to get another foot of snow in the next few hours.
It just got thicker and thicker out there as time went on (and as daylight faded).

Jason:
Since we have global warming, you should be able to take your bike out today!
Just tie some True Blue© furnace filters to your bike and ride around in your shorts and T-shirt!!
Direct your friends to this video for education.

I'll be taking my first flight in a long time in the next week or two.
Hopefully, I can get video of it (I don't know if it's allowed, now-a-days).
If not. I'll get one in February...when no one is looking (this one will be with an Instructor (CFI) ).
