I use State Farm for pretty much all of my insurance coverage (home, auto, motorcycle, etc...) and have for the last 15 years.
I know all the secretaries and my agent, on a personal level and they know me by face and can recognize me at the grocery store.
I've even repaired a few of their cars over the years at my home.
Well, I went down to SF two months ago to tell them to take Lori off my account, as well as her car (that she'd sold and never told me about until months later) and they took the car off - removing the payment for that month's bill.
Yesterday, I receive a check for $91 and a bill (two separate mailings) for a FREE MONTH of auto insurance!!
Not only did they remove the last months bill but, they also took me on my word and removed the months after Lori had sold the Pontiac!!
How often do you see that?
I get FREE insurance this month! w00t!
(That's how come I ordered a camcorder.)

I would say, "Yes."
State Farm may be a national company but, when it comes down to the individual branches and customers....they have never disappointed me.

That's really awesome that they took her car payments off and gave them back to you. There aren't very many companies out there anymore that would take care of their customers properly like that....too many fraud artists I suppose.

I use State Farm. Just like a good neighbor...
I don't have any stories as rewarding as Mahnarch's but I think their rates are reasonable, and they were right on top of it when I got nailed a few months ago. It was the other people's fault but State Farm fronted the value of my 2003 truck so I can get on and buy the new 2009 only a couple days after.
I'm sure the other people's company repaid State Farm but they dealt with that by not making it my problem.

I always hear horror stories about the "other guys" (especially Progressive - even though 'Flo' is so cute in the commercials) but, I've never had a problem with SF.
Whenever I have a glass claim, the most they do is give me a number to set up an appointment with the glass company for a time that best fits me.
I even blew the rear window out of my Torino a few years ago (closed the door and the glass popped out [old car, hot day, no surprise]). They handled that, too.
