Besides the fact none of those answers really fit me, Manarch you should really take a look at this chart. Though very simplified, it seems to me like you don't have a good grasp of how our government works...

Thats a good chart for the basic job description of the 3 branches of power. The system has partially fallen away from that though. For 1 thing Supreme court Judge Harry Blackman wrote at least 3 laws that were made through the court. And 1 of them was Roe vs Wade.
The court by policy is here to interpret the law but not to make the law.
Even as simple as The People's Court. When Judge Wapner would say 'I'll take a short recess and return with an answer.'
He needs to consult the law as its written, and then well, judge as per the title of his job, how to rule as it is written.

Ooooohhhh.. Possum..
Where do I begin?
Executive Power (basically, 'Emergency Powers' as CiC.) Citizen rights as POTUS. POTUS rights as a citizen. Public scrutiny. Public humility. A baseball bat....and a Congressman's car (gov. issue - so, technically MY car).
Possum,
With all your spunk and searching for knowledge and rights.... Would you like to be an Ambassador for the U.S.?
You can pick your country.

Mahnarch, I respect you a lot. I agree that society needs to be more strict on work ethic.
You and Phil tell stories about work ethic, so does Classic's brother who you guys know here as Thunderbird, and we also experience it. My dad and I have tried to employ some of my friends for entry type work and they only seem to want to work enough hours to pay their car insurance and go out once in a while.
I like the speak English and learn it. I agree about people coming to America need to learn American culture and not expect it to be modified to accommodate them.

This topic is rejuvenated so I might ask Slippy0 what ideas do you think could help our country?
Obviously there's grid lock with the two party system it's hard for either party to get much done because if either party is too successful it's harder for your party to get people elected. This year there's going to be about 25 congressional seats up for grabs.
Not as if there aren't numerous seats up every year but I do think all office seekers come in thinking they can change things and most of them fall into the routines of the other incumbents instead of serving the people they figure out how the job can serve them. (that might not be the intention when they start but they usually fall into that rut)
After that they hate to lose that cushy job so they spend their time trying not to upset the balance of things too much because it would be damaging to their reelection hopes. That's when they stop trying to change anything for fear that immediate change hurts their reelection hopes more than what they can do in office helps the public.
I think my observation is not partisan oriented too I think both parties are responsible for that.

Wow, lot's covered in this thread. I can't say I really have a disagreement with anything---pretty similar to my values. One thing that jumps out at me: Press 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish........ When my Norwegian, French, German, Dutch, and Welsh ancestors emigrated to this country, they had to learn ENGLISH. There it is. It's pretty simple. We speak ENGLISH. THAT IS OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE. I was taken to task by someone for being "a harsh bigot" for not being more sympathetic to those who come here and have to learn English as a second language. Again, when my Norwegian, French, German, Dutch, and Welsh ancestors emigrated to this country, they had to learn ENGLISH. If that was good enough for them, it's good enough for the hordes of emigrants who come to our country both legally and illegally. Speak your native tongue at home and among friends if you wish, but let's drop this crazy bilingual country crap.
