Computer language and text messages:
It took me a while to realize or be told that LOL is Laugh out Loud. I finally figured out BC is because, and Wat is What.

It almost seems contradictory in a number of formats because some of the most literate Board discussion Members are adamant that postings use proper Grammar.

Meanwhile it's ok to use those abbreviations.

That's just something I was thinking about and didn't really know where to post it.

I missed this from a while back. I don't get that either. Text messages when you can just call and convey the message in less time.

I cringe when I get a text because its usually some bad news and the person doesn't want to hear your reaction so they text it to you and hide behind their phone.

Maybe its different if you need to tell 40 people to meet at 11pm you dont have to make 40 phone calls. Most of the time I receive a text its bad news and they're making it my problem and avoiding the reaction.

I like texting but I don't always get the code I have to think about it before I can reply a lot of times.
