My computer screen on occasion will start flashing and the color for a split second turned blue. It's just about 10 years old. Can anyone tell me what's the deal here? I know a new computer is in order, I was just hoping not yet.

I know it's an expense we all think not yet when it comes to buying something. I didn't have any plans on buying a new truck 2 months ago but I didn't plan on getting railed either.
That's the 2nd time I had a truck meet its end tragically.
If the screen is going haywire on your computer it's probably similar to an old tv it's wearing out but if the situation is just right the screen might work. I had a tv like that I hung a tee shirt in the antenna to hold it in place and it got all the channels that way.

Since I'm assuming it's a CRT, you could always see if degaussing would help with your color problem.
If it doesing work you could still enjoy the BzbzbzzbBBZZZZINGDWOINGGGGG sound that degaussing a CRT makes.

Changing computers sucks. You have to try to retain all your programs. You also hope that it doesn't crash or you'll never get that info out.
It's the same thing when you change cell phones you have to transfer the numbers.

No noise, and the color is normal. What does CRT mean?

I understand not wanting to buy a new computer nomatter how old your existing 1 might be spending money is never something you're anxious to do.

I agree about not wanting a new one because of the expense and changing of documents like everybody said, but when you do get a new computer you see how much better they keep getting when you get a new PC.
