If that makes you feel better.
The Americans who voted for Obama are going to be more disappointed in the long run because those of us who voted McCain didn't have hope in Obama. The ones who think Obama will do a good job right now are going to fall hard when reality sets in.
But that's why we have elections and its a four year term and he won and that's that.

I'd rather not get in a debate about it, as much as I normally agree with my friends here, I can't always. All I can say is I hope for the best, it's a historic moment for sure. He's going to have a real mess to face. My fingers are crossed.
Classicblast, I know you're set in your opinion, but we don't know yet how it will go. Obama may not have lots of experience, due to our situation people voted for him because they thought he was the better choice.
Possum Jenkins, it's not necessary to rub it in and encourage an argument. Of course the other side is dissapointed, so what? Be more mature please.

That's 1 for Demona.
I am also disappointed because of social issues and national security. And taxes definitely taxes.
You know what though? I still headed off to work last night. I still had a normal routine to take care of and the sun still came up about the same time and after getting home and getting some sleep I still woke up and I'm still on lewasite.
Day to day life isn't going to change all that much.

Even though I didn't think McCain was the best choice, I still feel sort of bad for him because he wanted to win for like...10 years. That's gotta be tough. We'll just see what happens.

I think political office seekers are conditioned to possibly not get elected. Only Al Gore was shocked everybody else is prepared for that possibility even if the outcome is a surprise.
History shows that Tom Dewey was expected to defeat Harry Truman for President in 48. The headline said "Dewey defeats Truman." But Truman won. From what I understand Dewey accepted his fate.
Ronald Reagan ran for a primary in 1968 and 1976 was not nominated either time. But he did get nominated and elected in 1980. Bob Dole tried for the party nomination at least 3 times before being nominated in 96 but he lost.
This was McCains second or third time.
That's just the way it goes. Only 1 person can get elected.

Don't try to act all high and mighty on me missy. Obviously doing what you do is your prerogative, but if what you do is razzing people you have to expect to be razzed back or reprimanded. Its not as if you can razz people and not expect a reply of any kind.

I think our definitions of razzing are somewhat conflicting.
Also, responding to my first post in the manor you did was not very "razzy-ish.

You can take that approach Possum but sometimes in the past if you made a partially antagonistic post and you got met with bad reactions you got mad. Just realize that you might not get positive feedback when you post something 'like haha to you. if you didn't vote for Obama.'

The last handful of posts remind of the old 1950's song "Charlie Brown, why is everyone picking on me I hope Obama is up to the task of getting this country back on track again. Might be a bumpy ride the next 4 years. What ever happened to Ross Perot? He was a third party candidate back in 1992 that I thought had real potential to be a good leader.
