My grandfather, the one I was named after, passed away a couple days ago. I just found out a little while ago, and I honestly wasn't surprised because I got this wierd feeling about him a couple weeks ago. Hmm.

Sorry to hear that, were you close? Usually you do get a weird feeling about things before you know.

I'm sorry about the news Maggs. At least you're old enough to have great memories of your grandfather. I was fortunate too. My father's dad died when I was about 17 my mother's father died when I was 25. So like you I knew both my grandfathers. Its rough anyway though.

Sorry to hear this bro. As we start getting older we're definitely going to notice more and more people we know passing on. I've had a few people I know pass on. One of them was a teacher who was one of my best friends. Died of cancer. I lost my grandfather on my mothers side last year, but since he and my mother hated each other and he treated her badly throughout her young life, as a result, I never knew him. Never even met him.
My other grandfather lives out in Ohio. I see him, but it's once every couple years. He's my last remaining grandparent, as I'm fresh out of grandmas.

That's a shame. Not to echo everybody else but I am sorry. It's important to make the extra effort to see grandparents. I realize everybody is busy. Heck I'm away from my wife and sons much of the summer. I only see my parents and my brothers a few times a year.
Sometimes Thunderbird logs in here and sends me or Blastgirl a private message as a communication measure.
We're probably going to my old hometown for Thanksgiving.
It's important to give aging grandparents a call if you can't get over there. I fully understand that family can live out of state and getting there is difficult.

That's a very nice write up in the news paper. He was a Wold war 2 vet. And he lived to age 85. The article says he spent some time in hospice, but was he healthy until shortly before he died?

Belated condolences, Maggs.
It looks like Grandpa Maggs (since you were named after him) lived a nice, full life and he went peacefully with family there.
My Gpa left us when he was only 66 years old, unexpectedly. We were all pretty upset because he'd waited so long and was so excited about retiring and it was taken from him shortly afterward.
