I'm afraid that's not the new contract proposal from the Los Angeles Dodgers to our admin, Classicblast for a 5 year playing contract. Although it's almost that much money.
At least in that case a private business would be footing the bill for their own gain. In this case taxpayers pay for those who couldn't.
Ok, I'm not uncharitable I understand sometimes we need to help others. I believe in bringing food to the church basket, I believe in buying an extra shirt or something to do the same thing with.
I don't think it's our obligation to pay back mortgages to people who should have known better.
When we bought my wife's car we bought a Buick LeSabre. It has most of the options included, power windows, power seats, cd player, air conditioning and whatever. We probably could have swung for a Park Avenue but it was considerably more money for what was mostly the same car. So we bought the LeSabre.
When I bought my truck I got the Silverado 3500. A 2500 was only 600 less money so I went for the heavier model. I did not get a crew cab or some of the accessories.
I got the 8100 V8 no diesel.
I did get an automatic transmission my previous truck was a 4 speed.
When we bought our house we looked at some that had even more land, but we have almost 4 acres here, we have a failry big house, theres 4 bedrooms and my downstairs den that I often blog from could be extended into a bedroom if we had more kids down the road.
The house is enough for us and it was within the budget.
My income supports us. Both vehicles are paid off right now. I bought them both. The mortgage, taxes, utilities, everything except the groceries are paid from my salary. My wife does buy the groceries and we also build savings and a 401K we each have through work.
Now we're not making monthly vacations, but we have our fun.
We could have gotten a bigger house and perhaps my truck could have been a Lincoln Navigator and my wife's car a Cadillac but what would that mean? Sacrifice of some things that are more important. Higher creditcard limits and big debt
Not worth it.
You should know what you can afford and what makes sense for you. Bankers are getting a bonus if they can sell you the bigger package. So do sales people.
This is still a buyer beware world.
The payments for my truck were about 490 a month for 5 years. Suppose they made the payments 100 a month for 2 years what would happen? Suddenly the 2 years are up and now the payments 950 and you can't afford them anymore.
The banker and salesman got their commission already and since you bought everything in your life that way not just your truck you're into bankrupcy.
SHAME ON YOU!
We can blame the government all we want, we can blame the bankers and salespeople all we want. Who deserves the vast vast majority of the blame?
