I don't know how you think this makes him not fit to be President but you're entitled to your opinion. Not going on Letterman is hardly the benchmark for what makes someone fit to be President.

McCain's not fit to be president because David Letterman made fun of him? I'd say he's a lot more qualified than Obama who served about two years in the U.S. Senate before he decided to run for president and before that had accomplished very little in the public square.

Hold on there coy boy, let's get this straight....
He LIED to Letterman saying he was going to go back to D.C. to work on the economic crisis, but went to have an interview with Katie Couric (sp?) which is on the same channel... He obviously can't think of a well thought out plan, and if he has to lie to Letterman, I'm afraid of what this means for international relations.

My understanding was he was going to do both interviews and didn't fit them both in. I do think a news interview is more important than a Late show interview. Although the late show interview has a better chance of making a positive personal impact the news interview discusses to more people about what's being worked on today. So I don't think he did wrong. And he personally called letterman and canceled he didn't just not show up.

He called Letterman and canceled yes, but for some reason I'm doing an interview with Catie Couric wouldn't suffice.

I still don't see how that makes him unfit to be President. There's a lot more things that would make me unsure about Obama than McCain not going to Letterman. But I was never considering supporting Obama as Possum was against McCain before either was ever nominated.

The point I'm trying to make is, if he's lying to letterman how can he expected to handle any foreign affairs?

I don't see the connection to Letterman and foreign affairs but I do think Letterman can get the best of him by making fun of him everyday on his show. Mocking him out repeatedly could weaken his image among some voters.

I don't understand how so many people think McCain didn't win the debate Friday.
I will agree Obama is a very good talker but he didn't really answer questions well, he had a deer in the headlights look when there were questions about things, and he really did not assure me he could handle a crisis.
I think he understands the economic problems as well as anybody but Talking troops out of Iraq would result in Vietnam all over again. If theres even a single lesson learned from Vietnam it would have to be you don't pull out ahead of time.
And 'John is right' seemed to get said a lot.
I am not concerned too much about MCcains age. Granted in your 70s you're health can get fradgile but my father is older than McCain tough as nails I'm not assuming that 72 is too old to be President.
