www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26124593/?GT1=43001 Schools are banning peanut butter because...oh no! Some kids have allergies! Lots of parents are against it, and they should be. It's not helping matters and doesn't teach the kids how to be responsible for themselves. It makes no sense to take something away from the majority of normal healthy kids just for one or two with a problem. What's next, banning artificial food coloring? I knew a girl with an allergy to it. She really had to read labels on everything. You know how many foods and drinks contain coloring? She was fine, just careful. It's just so ridiculous how...babied, kids are now. I remember back in high school we used to have peanut butter cakes, and they were taken off the menu. A whole ban wasn't issued though, thank goodness.

This is the dumbest thing ever. I think I'm allergic to taxes they should ban them.
They have dodgeball banned in some schools too. Dodgeball banned because throwing a ball at people is mean. Oh my we can't have that can we?
This world is getting softer and softer all the time. Banning peanut butter because some people are allergic. I'm allergic to broccoli ban it.

Well, you can hurt eachother in dodgeball if you whip hard enough, but just use a different kind of ball maybe. Oh, and don't forget how red ink can't be used to grade papers because it traumatizes the kids! The horror of it all!

Oh wow I never heard that last 1 about red ink. Oh wow we can't have that can we?
There's a baseball league for youth that doesn't keep score. Yeah they don't want losing teams to suffer the emotional trauma.
They didn't have that when Jason was of age for that league its ages 6 to 8. My boy who is turning 5 will not be in a league that doesn't keep score we will put him in the 'advanced' division because this no score keeping is dumb.
I told my wife 'we're not raising pansies here.' She agrees though.

Doesn't keep score? Come on! How would the kids be traumatized by it? I bet the really little kids just don't care or have fun playing anyway and don't feel terribly competitive. I've just never heard of it.
I know about how the wood and metal playgrounds of old are being done away with because the surfaces are too hard. Wouldn't want anyone to fall down now!

I'm allergic to silver (ironic in many ways isn't it?) and that's a very bad idea. I used to be allergic to peanuts but after a certain incident with a sandwich I lost it. Sure it is life threatening but come on! Why can't somebody try to take care of themselves. Well there could be that type of cruelty between some children but that I think is half another problem.

I just feel society has continued to get weaker.
That's not to say you shouldn't take allergies seriously. If a kid is allergic to peanuts then I'm not saying I would make him eat peanutbutter anyway to toughen him up. He/she should not eat peanuts if there's an allergy issue. But does that mean nobody should because some people are allergic to peanuts?
Jason is liable to come home and tell me that he can't go to school anymore because he's allergic to chalk if we went by that theory.

Why couldn't they ban liverwurst or broccoli?
I just think it gets stupider and stupider with that.

Actually it's like banning computers from a school because somebody has epilepsy.
Why is it going to extreme solutions now?

Actually it's like banning computers from a school because somebody has epilepsy. Why is it going to extreme solutions now? That is what its like. I hate too much softening things to accommodate. I could see that if a student suffered from epilepsy he could be exempt from dance courses because the flashing lights could be a problem. No thats not fair that they would ban peanut butter because some people are allergic. Its not that they had required people to eat peanut butter.
