Well, I have a ringside seat to Hurricane Dolly. We are about 260 miles north of the landfall. So far, we are only seeing the clouds from the outer storm bands. It looks impressive even from here. No rain yet. I hope the folks in Brownsville and environs are all right. We are supposed to get 2-4 inches of rain from Dolly here in Bexar county.....I will believe it when it happens. We have had only 7 inches of rain the last 11 months at my house. My lawn looks like one of those brown bristle welcome mats. It seems like it has been 98F and dry every day since late April......Pumpkin is doing a rain dance right now. Com'on Dolly, just a little rain please.

i cant imagine 4 inches of rain my grandpa talks about the flood of 1972 by the susquana river. my dad said he does not remember it but he was little during the clean up that took years they talk about it a lot because this would mark the 36 year flood 1900 1936 1972 and 2008 that so far has not happened to the tragic they have had those years i have seen about 2 inches of snow but thats less damaging than huricanes and that amount of rain pumpkin please stay safe

Yeah, I heard on the radio tonight that parts of Texas are supposed to get upwards of 20 inches!! Wow, talk about not having to water your yard for......5 years... I hope your house makes it through O.K. Pumpkin! You better check your shingles afterwards (the ones on the roof, not the ones you leave in the bathroom - although, depending on the severity of the storm...... )

Man, what a wild day. Tornado warnings and flood warnings. We just got missed by a tornado. Pumpkin had to check his shorts after that one! Dolly is finally moving on into Mexico, and she took some fast food with her from one of the local hamburger joints she tore the roof off of.

We may have gotten some aftermath of something. It was a monsoon just about all night. My shift pretty much spent the night going around and collecting branches.

HA! HA! I didn't get anything!.....for once!
We've just been slogging along with the Lake Effect rainfall, just about every day (nice, sunny day - rain in the evenings when it cools down)
Can't ride the motorcycle to work when it's nice because after about 8PM it starts raining.
Sucks. (rain hurts a bare face at 45mph+

We were just watching a news story about tornadoes and hurricanes. My dad goes to me, "The world of meteorology has yet to discover that the worlds strongest wind comes from your butt Kimmy!"

Hey, instead of the Saffir-Simpson scale for rating hurricane strength, we should have the Saffir-Kimmson scale...... I actually miss Dolly. It was nice to have a cloudy, rainy, 82 degree day after months of 98 and sunny. It's back at it again---with no rain in the forecast for at least 7 days. I do like a little variety, minus the destruction. One of my neighbors said there are 3 seasons here: Hot, hotter, and "Oh my gawd! How can you stand this!"
